School Clubs Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzle

I made this school clubs vocabulary puzzle set for my 3rd and 4th graders during our extracurricular exploration unit. The kids were excited to join clubs but had no idea what words like member, meeting, or activity meant when we talked about what clubs are and how they work. They kept asking questions like "What's a club president?" or "Do I have to do something every week?" So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like club, member, meeting, president, treasurer, advisor, activity, event, fundraiser, goal, team, and spirit . I also threw in a few like "volunteer" and "collaborate" because they came up in our class discussions . Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the vocabulary finally stick.

The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about the spelling of "treasurer" or whether a club advisor is the same as a teacher . The crossword I use for partners or as a review after we've looked at the list of clubs our school offers . I added a couple simple star, handshake, and notebook drawings but nothing too busy.

Works for 3rd through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers pick one club they would like to start or join and write about it on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.
