Sight Words Grade 3 word search, scramble and crossword puzzle

I made this sight words puzzle set for my 3rd graders during our reading unit. The kids could read fluently but still needed practice with more advanced common words like "different," "important," or "thought." So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like about, better, bring, carry, clean, cut, done, draw, drink, eight, fall, far, full, got, grow, hold, hot, hurt, if, keep, kind, laugh, light, long, much, myself, never, only, own, pick, seven, shall, show, six, small, start, ten, today, together, try, warm, and eight. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the third grade Dolch words finally stick.

The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about how to spell "different" or "important." The crossword I use for partners. I added a couple simple star and library book drawings but nothing too busy.

Works for 3rd through 4th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers pick one word and use it in a sentence on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.
