Supply and Demand word search, scramble and crossword puzzle

I made this supply and demand puzzle set for my 4th graders during our economics unit. The kids could see that popular toys sold out fast but had no idea why or what words like shortage or surplus meant. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like supply, demand, price, shortage, surplus, high, low, more, less, expensive, cheap, popular, product, buyer, seller, and market. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the basic idea finally click.

The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about why concert tickets cost more when a band is famous. The crossword I use for partners. I added a couple simple graph and coin drawings but nothing too busy.

Works for 4th through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers give one example of high demand and low supply on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.
