Many of our students love learning in a variety of ways and music is one of those! We can retain information better when we hear it through songs and visual videos. This is one reason we like to incorporate music in our learning environments. We don’t have to limit music to music class only for our students. In my store, you’ll find a wide array of music resources that students will love to learn from. What You Get: This is a music video for your elementary students. The title of this song is “Responsibility.”This is a song and video that will teach students about character and taking responsibility. This video provides explanations and many examples to support student learning. You can implement this video at the introduction of teaching this character trait. The objective is for students to better understand how to be responsible and what it takes to have good character. This would be a song that I play multiple times for my students across the course of this unit . Charlotte's Web – Character Webs Activity

This product has students complete character webs for several characters in the novel Charlotte's Web, by E. B. White. This activity has students delve into the characters' traits. I would first do a lesson on what a character trait is. Make sure your students know there are positive traits as well as negative traits. You could have students complete the webs as you read the story, or you could wait until the end. In this novel there are five characters that students will look closer at. These characters are Wilbur, Charlotte, Fern, Templeton, and Avery. Even though this worksheet only has room for students just to write a word in each section, your class discussions could go in a lot more detail. Instead of just telling students to give you six words to describe a character, make them give you specific examples. For example, if a student says that Charlotte is patient, ask them a specific time in the story that Charlotte shows patience. *It's important to note that these character webs should focus on character traits (ex: kind), not physical traits (ex: short). Make sure your students know the difference.

Finger Puppets - Little Red Riding Hood - Fairy Tale With this material, you get craft templates for finger puppets for the story "Little Red Riding Hood". Perfect for language lessons at primary school. The students deal creatively with the story by coming up with suitable dialogues and acting out the story. The special thing about the finger puppets is that the characters show different emotions by turning the finger puppets or change according to the narrative. The finger puppets are suitable for language lessons in grades 1, grades 2, grades 3, grades 4, grades 5 and grades 6. The finger puppet templates are available in two versions: one in color and one in black and white. You can decide for yourself whether you want to use the time-saving or printer-friendly version. The students can design the black and white templates themselves, for example. With the colored templates, you can quickly create a finger puppet set that you can give to the students to play with. To store it in the binder, the students can make a bag. For the finger puppet show, I have also added suitable backdrops. The students can also design and use their backdrops for their finger puppet show. Teaching Ideas: The finger puppets can be used in various ways in the classroom: Students use the finger puppets during a book presentation to bring the characters to life and practice retelling. Students act out dialogues between the main characters of the fairy tale. The students use the finger puppets in assigned roles while reading. They take turns playing with the different characters. The students continue to tell the story with the finger puppets or come up with dialogues for gaps within the story.
