In this SEL product, you will get SEL Flashcards for Social Emotional Learning. You will also get SEL coloring pages because there are two different pages of emotions/feelings. Both pages have a black and white version and a color version. The black and white version allows your students to color their own faces and images. The emotions listed are; happy, sad, silly, proud, shy confused, scared, excited, angry, tired, loving, sick, disgusted, cry, jealous, disappointed. These flashcards can be used for so many purposes. I have used these flashcards for Go Fish games where the students have to ask for a certain feeling. You will need to make two copies of the colored emotions poster to make this game work. If a student asks for "angry" and the student they asked has it, that student give the card to the one who asked and that student places the match down on the table and names a time they felt angry. I have also used this resource for memory games. You would, again, make two copies of each emotion. Then you would mix up the cards and place them face down (I would highly recommend cardstock) in a random order. Students then would choose two cards and reveal the emotion cards. If they are a match, then the student can share when they have felt that way. If it is not a match, they would place the cards face down again the the next student would take a turn. This is a fun and interactive game but also helps students discuss their feelings in a non-threatening way. This resource can be used as a whole class activity where students color their flashcards and then cut them out. They can randomly pick a card and name a time they felt that way. This can also be used as a center activity for Go Fish or Memory (as I described above). The ways to use these Emotion SEL Flashcards are endless!

Why we sort by FEATURE - FUNCTION - CLASS Teaching children to sort or group items by feature, function, and classification is important for several reasons: Cognitive development: Sorting and grouping require children to think critically and make connections between items based on their characteristics. This helps to develop their cognitive abilities and improve their problem-solving skills. Organization: Sorting and grouping items based on their features, function, or classification can help children to organize information and make sense of their environment. This can improve their memory and make it easier for them to retrieve information later. Language development: Sorting and grouping can also help to develop children's language skills by providing them with the vocabulary to describe different features, functions, and classifications. This can improve their ability to communicate effectively and express their ideas clearly. Mathematical skills: Sorting and grouping can also help to develop children's mathematical skills, such as counting, categorizing, and comparing. This can lay the foundation for more complex mathematical concepts later on. This activity involves sorting clothing items based on their features, functions, and classes - the items in this activity are commonly seen as "girl" clothes. The learners will be presented with a collection of various clothing items such as shirts, pants, jackets, sweaters, and so on. The objective of the activity is to categorize these items based on their unique features, functions, and classes. To begin the activity , the instructor will introduce the concept of feature, function, and class, providing examples and a brief description of each. The learners will then be given a set of clothing items and asked to sort them into categories based on FEATURE- describing something 'the shirt is red' 'things with zippers' FUNCTION - what it is used for 'wear a coat when it is cold' CLASS - a category 'all shirts' or 'all socks' *For example, the learners could sort clothing items based on the feature of long sleeves, the function of keeping warm, or the class of pants. This is a pack of 8 AR spelling puzzles. How do the AR spelling puzzles help with phonics? Some children have difficulty understanding that two letters can make one sound. As the letters AR are on one part of the picture card - together - the physical manipulation of one piece of the puzzle, with two letters and one sound helps the child to understand. Who are they for? Any child needing help to hear the letters AR as one sound in words. They can be used in the Early Years (Pre-K and K) or for Early intervention, or for Special Needs. Instructions (included in the download): Puzzle Type 1: Cut around the whole of each mini puzzle (4 per page) and then cut each picture into its divisions. To play: ·The child chooses any card. S/he must the find the remaining part/s of the picture to fit together to complete each word. ·As the child does this the teacher should draw the child’s attention to the letters on each card. Ask questions such as: ‘What does ‘farm’ begin with? ‘So ‘f’ comes first’. ‘What sound can you hear next? f-ar?’ ‘Can you find the piece with ‘ar’?’ ‘What sound does ‘farm’ end with?’ ‘Can you find the last piece with ‘m’?’ ·Once each picture is formed, the child should then sound out the word, moving each piece to the right as it is sounded. Emphasise the saying of one sound ‘ar’ for the letters ‘ar’ together. Puzzle Type 2: These puzzles should be completed after Puzzle Type 1. They consolidate learning. Cut each picture puzzle out. Cut out the separate letter cards. To Play: The child chooses a picture. The child sounds out the word: s-t-ar; c-ar; f-ar-m; sh-ar-k; b-ar-n; d-ar-t; c-ar-d; ar-m; c-ar-t; p-ar-k. The child then finds the letter cards needed to spell each word, placing them in the boxes under each card. Ask questions as the child works as for Puzzle Type 1.

Bank Account Board Game: A Fun, Financial Literacy Lesson for Addition, Subtraction, or Integer Practice (Grades 3-7) Do you want to give your students real world math practice for addition and subtraction up to 4 digits? Do you want to show them how the math they learn in the classroom is helpful in everyday life? Do you want to find a way to have them practice loads of math without even noticing? Then this financial literacy board game is perfect for you! How to Use: Print the two page handout double-sided for each student. Go through the bank account vocabulary together as a class. Then give your students time to try to match the vocabulary words to the clues. Next, talk about what actions help your bank balance and what actions hurt it, and try to think of more examples as a class. Now you are ready for the game! Print a game board for each group of 2-4 students, have six-sided dice, and small objects to use as counters. The game’s main objective is to educate students about financial literacy concepts such as spending (withdrawing) and saving (depositing) money within the context of a bank account. Let's Talk Feelings SEL Presentation

In this SEL presentation, you will get a 5 slide Google Slide Presentation. This was originally created for remote learning, however you can adapt this for in the classroom as well. On the second slide, there is a read aloud that I created for the book My Cold Plum Lemon Pie Bluesy Mood by Tameka Brown. This is a wonderful book about a boy with many different feelings, emotions, and moods throughout the book. On the 3rd slide, there is access to a digital spinner with many different feelings on it. Once you click on the spinner in presentation mode, it will create a new tab, scroll down for the large spinner with a variety of feelings on it. When you click on the spinner, it will move and make spinner sounds. You can choose a student to come to the board or your computer to click it to stop. When it stops there will be a feeling on the screen. You can have students turn and talk about when they have felt that way, you could have them talk in groups, you could do it whole classroom and students can raise their hand. Play as many rounds as you have time for. Next on slide 4 the students can do a feelings scavenger hunt where they find something in the classroom (or home if it remote) that reminds them of that feeling. There is animated picture of feelings that come up on the screen. This gets kids up and moving in the classroom and having fun. Finally, on the last slide you will have access to a homework sheet to pass out to students called Inside/Outside Feelings Scavenger Hunt. Students can take this home and fill it out. They will answer prompts for; That makes you feel silly?, What reminds you of a trip, etc. There are 12 prompts for them to answer.
