TH Digraph Flower Craft

Enhance the teaching and learning of the digraph TH with our unique and interactive flower craft activity. This educational tool is designed to facilitate the understanding and recognition of words containing the digraph TH sound with common, easy to recognize images. The digraph contains images for the sound appearing at the beginning of the word and at the end of a word. Our resource contains two different TH flower templates to practice beginning digraphs and ending digraphs. What's Included: There are 2 craft templates with pictures and words to simply create a flower by cutting the pieces apart and gluing them onto construction paper. There are 2 craft templates where students will read each word and match the word to the correct petal picture to create a flower. This activity requires students to already have some knowledge of the TH sound and how to read simple words. By having various craft templates, teachers can differentiate this craft for each student. Utilizing this Resource: Simply print the flower templates, and then allow the students to color, cut out, and assemble into a flower on colored construction paper. You can also print the flower design onto colored card stock to create a sorting activity . The flower will need to be cut and laminated. This can function as interactive materials in a literacy center, where students can match pictures to the correct TH flower. Mix and match these with flowers of other digraph flower crafts to encourage sorting and classification exercises. Possible Applications: Literacy Centers - place the flower pieces in a literacy center for students to match. Classroom decorations or bulletin board displays - place finished crafts on the wall or bulletin board for a fun spring display. Ways to use the Tree Blossom Craft Activity: It can be used for art class, or for the study of trees/spring. Take your Pre-K and kindergarten learners on a journey through the Amazon rainforest with this fun-filled set of activities. There’s something for all types of learners as they focus on colors and animal adaptations in the rainforest biome. They’ll begin their journey with an engaging mini-book that tells about 10 rainforest animals. Created with beginning readers in mind, the story offers repetitive sentences, sight words, and colorful graphics. On each page learners will also be introduced to adjectives describing adaptations of each animal. Afterwards, each learner will have the opportunity to personalize their own book. This is a great way for them to build connections with learning and practice their reading skills with family and friends. Next, they’ll move on to several hands-on activities where they will strengthen foundational fine motor skills through tracing, cutting, gluing, manipulating modeling dough, and pretending to feed a baby hummingbird using a pipette. Along with those skills, your learners will practice concepts such as counting, writing, identifying color words, sorting, patterns, and following directions. Each activity was designed to meet current educational standards while highlighting the unique characteristics of animals such as the pink river dolphin, harpy eagle, black caiman, leaf-cutter ant, and red-eyed tree frog. You will note the STEM activities require specific materials, many of which can be found in your own teacher treasure trove or borrowed from teacher friends. While the craftivities do require initial prep work, they will add color to your educational environment. What’s more, your learners will take pride in seeing their masterpieces displayed during your rainforest themed unit. The books and many of the activities are available in both color and black & white versions. An answer key is also provided for worksheets. Below you will find a list of details found within the pages of this product. BOOKS: Two versions of “Take a Look!” – one a basic read-along, the other an interactive read-along. STEM: Activity 1: learners will estimate the number of blue morpho butterfly eggs that will fit on various sized leaves and place eggs (pony beads) on said leaves to show visual representation. Activity 2: learners will use modeling clay to build an anthill to house an estimated number of leaf-cutter ants that will fit inside their home.
