Many of our students love learning in a variety of ways and music is one of those! We can retain information better when we hear it through songs and visual videos. This is one reason we like to incorporate music in our learning environments. We don’t have to limit music to music class only for our students. In my store, you’ll find a wide array of music resources that students will love to learn from. What You Get: This is a music video for your math students in 3rd – 4th grade. The title of this song is “Bidding on Betty.”This is a song and video that will teach students multiplication facts. This video provides explanations and many examples to support student learning. You can implement this video at the introduction of teaching this math skill. The objective is for students to correctly solve multiplication facts by 10. This would be a song that I play multiple times for my students across the course of this unit . This beginning sound sort for the letter C is a great hands on activity for recognizing the most common sound of the letter C. This is an easy and fun activity to give students who need practice with recognizing the letter C sound from amongst other letter sounds or for those students who need extra practice distinguishing between the initial sounds in words. To complete this sorting activity , students will look at a picture on a ball of yarn to determine if the picture begins with the letter C or does not begin with the letter C, and then the students will place the yarn on the correct cat mat. This sorting activity includes 3 pages that contains One cat mat for pictures that begin with the letter C One cat mat for pictures that do not begin with the letter C Yarn pictures that begin with C Yarn pictures that do not begin with C This beginning sound sort can be used in the following ways Literacy centers Fine motor centers File folder activity Add magnets to the picture cards for a baking tray activity Small group activities Morning work Emergency sub plans If making a file folder game, the teacher will place the mats on either side of the folder and use hook and loop fasteners to sort the snowflake pictures. The words in this set follow a CVC or CCVC spelling pattern. Included in this resource: This resource includes one word mat and one sentence mat, both for reading AT words in insolation and in context. There are also picture cards that correspond with each word and sentence. To complete this activity , students will read each AT word or sentence on the mat and then match the corresponding pictures. Students can work independently or with a partner to complete this activity . How to Use these AT word Family Mats: The students can simply lay the images on top of the word or sentence. The seek and find page practices letter recognition by having students identify capital and lowercase forms of the letter. The find and color page practices letter recognition of the target letter from other letters of the alphabet. Students can use dot markers to mark the letters, they can color in the letter, or use stickers to cover the letters. The cut and paste page allows students to work with scissor skills to cut out examples of the letter from either printed materials, like magazines or newspapers, or students can use the letters provided at the bottom of the page. The trace and write page allows students to practice tracing and writing the capital and lowercase forms of the letter.
