Letter V Phonics and Writing Centers with Real Photographs

This letter V beginning sounds and handwriting activity includes real photographs to practice learning to recognize, write and identify the sound of the letter V. Each picture has bold colors and includes easily recognized pictures. Each activity can be used in a literacy center for students to practice letter recognition. What is Included: There is an instructional page with printing instructions. There are letter V posters with various letter V words. There are handwriting task cards that allow students to practice writing the letter V as well as words that begin with the letter V. There are beginning sound clip cards that allow students to practice clipping the images that begin with the letter V. There is a sorting activity where you sort pictures that begins with V from words that do not begin with V. The letter V sorting cards that can also be used to play memory, matching, or concentration games. These cards can also be used during a lesson in a pocket chart as well as for a center display. When to Use: All of the activities make great literacy centers, by placing each set of activities in the center and letting students complete activities alone or with a partner. These activities make great morning tub activities. Just place these activities in morning bins for students to complete as their classmates arrive to class. Skills Assessed: These activities assess letter recognition skills, beginning sounds, handwriting, and sorting skills. Each activity in this set is low prep. Each activity just needs to be printed out, cut apart, and laminated if desired. When you laminate the writing cards, you can create a writing center activity that is reusable is you add dry erase markers. The handwriting cards and beginning sound clip cards can be turned into task box activities.

This is an engaging math project that lets students apply math skills to a realistic situation: opening their own store! Grades to Use With: This project is perfect to use with your middle grades students in grades 5-8. It could also be a great addition to a high school life skills class studying finance, business, or careers. How to Use: Each of your students has won $2,000,000 in the lottery, and they are going to use it to open their very own store! They create a budget for a new business venture by considering the costs to rent a commercial storefront in your area, pay employees, and buy all of the supplies and stock they will need. They can do research on the internet to find out the prices of rental properties and the supplies they will need. They can do decimal calculations by hand or with a calculator. This will include adding decimals and multiplying decimals. Extension: Students who finish early can create an advertisement to attract customers to their new store. You could even have a day where each student presents their unique store idea to the class. What's Included: A total of 5 pages: Title Page and 4 page PDF assignment Standards: CCSS5.NBT.B.7 Add, subtract, multiply, and divide decimals to hundredths, using concrete models or drawings and strategies based on place value, properties of operations, and/or the relationship between addition and subtraction; relate the strategy to a written method and explain the reasoning used. This activity would work for any age of students who have learned about different computer applications, including Microsoft Excel. Students will be given access to 1 spreadsheet. On this spreadsheet, there are 5 tabs. Students can complete all 5 tabs, you can assign which tabs you want them to complete, or you can let the students choose which ones to complete. "Sort the Body Parts" activity is designed to help learners develop their understanding of human anatomy by identifying and categorizing different body parts. In this activity, the learner is presented with a set of picture cards, each featuring a specific body part, such as hands, heads, feet, and so on. The learner is then given a set of non-identical pictures of each body part and asked to sort them into the correct picture card. For example, if the learner is presented with a card featuring a hand, they will be given several non-identical pictures of hands to sort onto that card. This activity is ideal for learners of all ages, as it helps to develop their observational and analytical skills, as well as their knowledge of human anatomy. It is also an engaging and interactive way for learners to practice and reinforce their understanding of different body parts. Parts of the body in this activity: head eye eyes nose ear lips mouth arm hand hand feet foot leg This activity can be adapted to suit learners at different levels, with more challenging variations featuring more complex body parts or additional categories for sorting. Overall, "Sort the Body Parts" is a fun and effective educational activity that can help learners to build their understanding of the human body. 5 Little Speckled Frogs – Carpet Time Song Pack

Carpet Time Songs: 5 Little Speckled Frogs Support your students’ learning with this 5 Little Speckled Frogs Carpet Time Song. This resource was specifically designed to increase engagement amongst your little learners through the enjoyment of music and song. What You Get: A 13-page printable PDF complete with everything you need to complete this activity. How to Use the 5 Little Speckled Frogs Carpet Time Song: This fun frog song (rhyme, poem) for carpet time is one of my students’ favorites! It works great for a camping, forest, woods, animals, or back to school thematic unit. This is a great activity for teaching students to take away and to recognize numbers to 5. A black and white version is included so that students can create their own 5 little speckled frogs to sing about. I have included large class sized frogs to put on the board or into the middle of the carpet, small frogs and a small log that you could put on popsicle sticks or magnets for a whole class or center activity, and individual student cards so that they can have five frogs in front of them as you are singing the song as a class. To Prep: Print, cut, and laminate the frogs of your choice and instructions. To Play: Set frogs out in the middle of the carpet or place them on a whiteboard with magnets attached. Five little speckled frogs Sat on a speckled log Eating some most delicious bugs YUM! YUM! One jumped into the pool Where it was nice and cool. Now there were four green speckled frogs. GLUB! GLUB! Continue until all the frogs are gone. I ask students to hold up the number of fingers that matches how many frogs we have after each round. You can also write it on the whiteboard if you are using the frogs on magnets! I hope you enjoy!!
