TH Phonics Worksheets - 5 FREE Teaching phonics effectively doesn't have to mean hours of preparation. These ready-to-use worksheets have been designed with busy parents and teachers in mind — clear, simple, and straightforward to pick up and use. This free sample pack contains five worksheets focusing on a single phonics sound. Each worksheet has been carefully structured to build confidence and reinforce learning through a mix of activities, including word recognition, spelling practice and simple reading comprehension. The clean, uncluttered layout means children can focus on the sound rather than the page — and the black and white format keeps printing costs to a minimum. Suitable for: home school tutors SEN teachers ESL teachers Working at grades: Kindergarten Reception Year 1 These worksheets sit alongside any phonics programme you are already using. Whether you are following a school scheme, home educating, or supporting a child with additional learning needs, they slot in easily without disrupting your existing approach. Each activity has been trialled with real children in real teaching sessions. The progression within each pack is deliberate — building from phonemic awareness, through to recognition, through to application, giving children the practice they need to truly secure each sound before moving on. If you find these samples useful, the complete sound packs are available here. Each full pack covers the same sound in greater depth, with a more comprehensive range of activities, a video lesson and the accompanying reading book — everything you need to teach, practise and consolidate in one place. If your child's current phonics programme is not having the desired results, Reading Made Simple can help. It is borne out of my work with pupils with severe difficulties and none, and has proved effective in every case. It is a living programme, written on the chalk face, not in a university. New sounds are added regularly as the programme grows. S uitable for Reception and Year 1. Compatible with all systematic phonics programmes.

ee Phonic Reading Book Level 1:4

ee Phonic Reading Book Level 1:4
Special Resources, ELA, Special Education Needs (SEN), Language Development, Pre-Reading, Phonics, Reading, Kindergarten, Preschool,

This 'ee' phonic reading book is the fourth book to read in Level 1 of the FREE Reading Made Simple phonic reading scheme and only includes words with CVC,CVCC/CCVC, ck, oo and ee words. It practices the words see, tree, feed, and sleep while revising words with ck and oo. The books should be read in order. You can find other books here: Book 1 Book 2 Book 3 These first phonic readers are suitable for use with all phonic programmes when children know the sounds ck, oo and ee. Special features of the Digraph Reading Books This series of books focuses exclusively on sounding out words and only uses a minimal number of key sight (red/tricky) words. These short words should be learned on a flashcard first but are best put into context as soon as possible when children usually, quickly pick them up. The words being introduced in the reading programme for the first time are listed at the beginning of each book. Pictures are deliberately minimal to encourage the child to gain meaning from the text and not to guess. All of the words are introduced and then met again in subsequent readers giving repetition of vocabulary, to help develop confidence and fluency. Highly structured Very systematic There is also a short introduction to the book to be read by the teacher and discussed with the child. These introductions help to make up for the lack of words in the book and help parents and teachers to have a basis for discussion with the child, so aiding reading comprehension. I have based the stories around loveable characters with whom the children quickly identify: farmer Tom with his animals, his wife, his son Sam and daughter, Pam, his dog, Jiff and the cat. Due to the highly systematic, phonetic nature of these books, they are very suitable for special needs children who have failed with other programmes. Many parents have told me they wished they had found these books sooner or had found them at all, as they would have been ideal for their struggling reader. They have been thoroughly tested by my current pupils all of whom are boys. Even my nine-year old boy pupil loves them. They can also be used with young EFL/ESL learners. Who is the ee reading book for? Beginner readers who can sound out/blend both CVC and CCVC/CVCC words with a short vowel sound and who now starting to learn the digraphs. This Level 1 series of digraph reading books follows on from my CVC reading book pack and my CCVC/CVCC reading book pack, building confident readers with phonics! CVC readers: https://teachsimple.com/product/cvc-short-vowel-phonic-reading-books-fully-decodable-workbooks Consonant Blend (CCVC) readers: https://teachsimple.com/product/decodable-reading-books-consonant-blends-with-a-short-vowel-sound What is included? 1 PDF file with 12 pages. Print A4 and fold into an A5 booklet and staple together.

Reading Intervention for Struggling Readers: Book 6
Special Resources, ELA, Special Education Needs (SEN), Language Development, Pre-Reading, Phonics, Reading, Preschool, Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, Literacy Readers, Teacher Tools

This Reading Intervention for Struggling Readers: Book 6 helps children to use their knowledge of common digraphs to read longer passages and apply their phonic knowledge to new vocabulary. This book is the sixth in a series of books written to provide intervention for struggling readers using decodable reading books, written to build confidence and help the child attain fluency. This book is useful for reading intervention for older pupils, maybe even of 11+ who are struggling to read fluently, but who have a smattering of phonic knowledge but with gaps. It revises CK and OO words adding more commonly used decodable vocabulary giving the child a familiar base on which to build It follows: Book 1 CVC Words Book 2 Consonant Blends Words Book 3 More Consonant Blends Words Book 4 CK word Book 5 OO Words Who is this book for? Older pupils who can read, but who have a reading age well below their chronological age. Such children may struggle to read simple text with accuracy/fluency and thereby lack comprehension. It is not for pupils who are just beginning to read with phonics. Please see my Graded reading books for such pupils. It is convenient enough for parents to use with their children and for use by teachers and private tutors. Outline and steps Having secured a child's blending skills with three and four sounds in books 1 to 3, and practised CK and OO words, we now start to extend the child's ability to decode new words using common digraphs. Assess the whole time as the child reads: if the child stumbles on a word, make a note to revise that phonic sound before continuing to the next book. As these children are not beginners, we now add words ending in /et/ (e.g. packet) and past tense words: rock - rocked. these should be studied before reading this book. I find that often these children need help distinguishing between similar words, such as back and black, and by retraining the child to read accurately using these simple texts - that do not look babyish - and then rebuilding from the bottom up, much progress can be made. I thought that my pupils would look with disdain at these books. I found the opposite; they were so relieved that at last somebody had actually given them a book they could read! Simply print on A4 paper, two on a page. Cut into individual A5 pages, and staple or bind them together to make a book. Purpose These books have been written and tried and tested on some of my older pupils (mainly boys I admit), and they have proved very helpful. Most of my pupils have a dyslexic type problem, involving poor processing skills and have had years of failure. They must build a secure foundation for reading ability to build upon. These books, used as described, will help to build that foundation. I am finding an increasing number of such pupils desperate for help. You can help, too! It is not hard; you just need to understand the problem a little. What is included? 1 pdf with 16 pages, 4 reading passages and 4 fluency charts.

ir Decodable Reading Book Level 1: 38
Special Resources, ELA, Special Education Needs (SEN), Language Development, Phonics, Reading, Kindergarten, Preschool, Grade 1, Literacy Readers, Teacher Tools

This ir decodable reading book can help children develop reading fluency. It is part of a series of highly structured decodable reading books with controlled vocab; all vocab is decodable using phonic knowledge the child already has (if read in sequence) and true irregular sight words are only slowly and gradually introduced. These books can help children develop reading fluency, providing sequential decodable reading passages that practice previously taught phonic sounds while introducing new ones. Together they form a highly structured phonic reading scheme and should be read in order. the previous books can all be found in the Lilibette's Resources store. They follow on from our previous sets of: CVC Reading Books with matching workbooks Consonant Blends Reading Books with matching workbooks Level 1 Red Books. with matching workbooks These books are best read in sequence. This book contains words with the following sounds: ck, oo, ee, sh, ch, th, ng, ing, ar, or, a-e, i-e and u-e, ai, ea, oa, igh and ir. I created these phonic readers as I saw the huge need for highly structured, fun-to-read, early-reading books. They are very popular. I am an Early Years Specialist Teacher (B. Ed) who is currently tutoring children with profound special needs in reading and writing following over 30 years of teaching phonics. Main features: •The Level 1 readers gently introduce sight words, but only those that cannot be learned in a phonetic family, or will be needed before the family has been studied. •All the other words can be sounded out using the necessary phonic knowledge. Pictures do not encourage guessing •Each book tries to tell a simple story. •Each book has been tested on children with severe special needs and those with none – all have loved them as they can read them! •The books should be read in order Who can use these reading books? All beginner readers of any age and ability Struggling readers of all ages and abilities, including special needs pupils with severe dyslexia/other processing difficulties Teachers, parents, classroom assistants, private tutors - anyone who needs them! Are these phonic reading books and workbooks aligned with the UK Gov requirements or LETRS? Yes - totally. Though not part of an approved programme they are based on synthetic, very systematic phonics. They are highly structured, repeating vocabulary, introducing sight words slowly and introducing a-e words while practising those listed above that have been learned before. How long are the books? The reading books are either 8 or 12 pages long. Why are these books FREE when other people's books cost so much? Are they of lesser quality? They are free as I regard the ability to read as being a fundamental right of every living person. Why should some miss out on top-quality resources because they cannot pay for them? In terms of content, they are top quality, carefully planned and sequenced with the aim of helping as many children as possible get started on the phonic road to reading. What is included? 1 PDF Print as a booklet Flip on the short edge
