Meal Planning for Kids – Food Coloring Pages (3 Pages) I put together this mini set of coloring pages to help with getting through the day when some kids just need a break from regular school break. These coloring sheets can also be a a simple way to start conversations with kids about food choices and meal planning—without making it feel like a “lesson.” These are coloring pages, but they’re also a great prompt for talking about breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, and what makes a meal feel balanced. Kids can color the pictures any way they like (I love seeing purple carrots)! While they color, you can use the pages to introduce or review basic food groups and help children notice that meals are usually made from a mix of different foods. Easy ways to use these pages: Nutrition theme week (quick, no-prep activity) - For example, "National Nutrition Month" is in March! Health class / guidance / homeschool Early finishers or calm-down activity Family and consumer science “lite” for younger kids A simple writing or discussion prompt (favorite meal, “what would you serve,” etc.) Optional extensions (if you want to add learning without extra materials): Ask kids to circle foods that could be part of breakfast vs. dinner Have them to name one fruit/vegetable they’d add to a meal Create a “My Meal Plan” discussion: What would you choose for breakfast/lunch/dinner? Healthy Eating Fun: Strawberry Seed Counting & Writing (0–12) I made this strawberry-themed activity pack to combine early math practice with a simple healthy foods theme. Coloring is included because so many kids like to color! And it’s a fun way to sneak in number sense and fine-motor skills. This pack really requires no prep (just print and go), and it will work well for preschool, kindergarten, or early first grade learners who need repeated practice with counting, number recognition, and tracing. Students count the seeds, circle the correct number from the choices provided. Each page also includes tracing practice for the words “strawberry seeds,” plus a reminder to read the words out loud. I love these graphics! They're so bright and colorful! As a dietitian, I love making products that encourage healthy eating while being fun at the same time. There’s also a simple direction to color in the numbers, which makes this a great fit for teachers who are looking for health/food coloring pages that still have a real academic purpose. My activity pack includes counting pages that cover 0 through 12, so you can choose the number range that fits your students (0–5 for beginners, 0–10 for most learners or extend to 12 for a challenge). These activities can be used in a math center, for independent work, morning tubs, early finisher folders, small group practice, or send-home review. I've also included is a cut-and-order activity that teachers so that students get to practice their scissors skills as well. The activity is simple, students simply cut out the strawberries, color the numbers, if they like, and then arrange them in the correct order as well as match the number to the strawberry with the correct number of seeds. This adds sequencing and number sense practice and will your students a fine motor option. I added a bonus, “What Makes Strawberries So Healthy?” page with short statements and writing lines, which is perfect for teaching a little nutrition and encourage students to eat more fruit--especially strawberries!
