In this product, you will get 10 mindfulness coloring pages. There is something for everyone in this product. The images are; panda, sun & nature scene, sports, sloth, relax, breathe, monster friends, sea turtle, brain, and the peace symbol. These are great for the young and old and everyone in between. Use these as a way to calm down students at the end of a lively lesson or to use them as a brain break. In my practice as a full-time school counselor for grades kindergarten through 8th grade, I can honestly say I have used these with kindergarten through 8th grade. These are even appropriate for high schoolers. I have used them for small groups, after a guidance lesson, in a social emotional discussion with a large group of students to help them stay centered on the topic and one on one with students. These could also be used when students finish their work, during quiet time, used in a calm down corner or reset corner in the classroom or as extra activities for the classroom. AN Words Fluency Practice

Kindergartners and first graders will get a ton of practice reading AN words with these fluency activities. All target words are part of the AN word family. Students will practice reading these CVC words in isolation as well as in context of a simple sentence or passage. What is Included: Word Fluency Strips - These three strips only contain AN words in isolation. Students will practice reading the words on the strips until words are mastered. Sentence Strips - The sentence strips contain AN words in the context of simple sentences. Sentence Fluency Worksheet - Students will read the simple sentences then pick one sentence to illustrate in the box at the bottom of the worksheet. Reading Comprehension Passage - Students will read the story containing AN words three times then answer two comprehension questions and draw a picture to illustrate the story. Sentence Pyramids - There are eight sentence pyramids where students will read each sentence, adding a new word on each line. How to Use: These activities word very well in a reading or phonics center for students to work on independently or with a partner. They make great small group activities. Teachers can pull aside small groups of students who need extra practice reading AN words with fluency. The sentence fluency worksheets and reading comprehension page can be utilized as homework to send home for students to complete. Skills Assessed: These fluency worksheets and activities assess students' ability to read AN words in isolation or in the context of sentences. Students will practice reading comprehension skills with the reading passage page. The worksheets are print and go, no prep activity for teachers to prepare for students. They just need to be printed out and given to students to complete. The sentence strips and pyramid cards need to be printed and cut apart. These low prep cards can also be laminated for durability if desired.

ET Words Matching Mats

Students can practice reading comprehension skills with these ET word family mats. Students can practice reading ET words in isolation and in the context of sentences. The words in this set follow a CVC or CCVC spelling pattern. Included in this resource: This resource includes one word mat and one sentence mat, both for reading ET words in insolation and in context. There are also picture cards that correspond with each word and sentence. To complete this activity, students will read each EN word or sentence on the mat and then match the corresponding pictures. Students can work independently or with a partner to complete this activity. How to Use these ET word Family Mats: The students can simply lay the images on top of the word or sentence. They can be placed in a file folder utilizing hook and loop fasteners to attach the images. A magnetic activity can be created by using a baking sheet and magnets to affix the images. Students will love the hands-on nature of this activity. The bold and colorful images will capture students' attention, and the easy to recognize pictures are sure to keep students engaged in learning. These literacy activities allow students to practice target words both in the context of sentences and in isolation. Where can these mats be used? Literacy Center - Students can work independently or with a partner to read these words Morning Tub or Basket - The cards can be placed in a morning bin for students to work on as students arrive to class. That means, to put sounds together to make a word. The child has to be able to feel and hear the word that is being sounded out. This game is supplied in both colour and black and white - you choose how you print! We suggest laminating the pieces for durability. Who is the CVC Words Phonic Matching Game: I and E for? Those who are just beginning to sound out/blend CVC words with the I and E short vowel sounds. These may be: Young learners Special needs learners ESL/EFL learners of any age. Who can use the CVC Words Phonic Matching Game: I and E? Parents Homeschoolers/home educators Teachers in class, or for use in centers Those involved in intervention work Private tutors How can the CVC Words Phonic Matching Game: I and E be used? It can be played as a game for 2 players It can be used as a matching activity for individual pupils - great for centers! Print out the word cards and cut them up. Teach your pupil to take care of the cards and not bend them more than can be helped. If it matches a picture on your baseboard, place it in the correct space. If not, return it to the pool of cards. Play continues until someone completes their board, or until all the cards are used up. Teaching tips: Demonstrate how to sound out a word when it is your turn and invite your pupil’s help when it is your turn, so s/he gets even more practice. Your pupil will need a lot of blending practice so be patient. If your pupil has difficulty sounding out these words then spend more time practicing blending before playing the game again. This file is a two page worksheet of 8 problems for students to add fractions which are represented on a line plot to use with 5th grade math. Using a line plot when adding fractions can be a helpful visual tool, especially for students or learners who are still mastering the concept of fractions and need a more tangible way to understand the process. A line plot allows learners to see the fractional parts on a number line. This makes it easier to understand how the fractions combine, especially when dealing with fractions with the same denominator. Line plots show how fractions add up to form whole numbers. When the fractions sum to a whole, it’s visually obvious on the number line. For instance, if you're adding 3/4 + 1/4, a number line shows how the fractions build up to 1. For younger learners, or learners new to fractions, line plots can make abstract concepts more concrete. They can directly see how the fractions are added, rather than relying solely on algorithmic methods.

In this lesson, students will learn about how to be good sports. They will learn about poor versus good sportsmanship. There is a 6 slide Google Presentation that guides the lesson. Please review the slide notes on each slide to better understand the directions and flow of the lesson. The 7th Slide is a personalized handout you can create for each student with their name and it will state " Jenny Is A Good Sport" or whatever you would like to say on it. Simply click on the Word Art and change the name or words for your sports' personalized mindfulness coloring sheet. This is a great extension to this lesson. The lesson begins with a quick opener of having the students do 5 wall or floor push-ups. This is a great opener and engagement activity. Then student will think-pair-share with a partner about poor versus good sportsmanship examples. Then they can share out or you can have a student or two write down the poor versus good examples in a T chart on the Smartboard or a poster sheet. Next students will tally the amount of good sportsmanship examples they see in a Youtube video. Discuss everyone's calculations! Next, you will discuss the directions to the game of slapjack (the video is in the slide on Slideshow and also in the Slide Notes). This is where the teachable moments come in. Say to the class "Please look for the person in your group who is showing Good Sportsmanship" behaviors. After the game, ask students to write down the name of someone of a couple people who showed good sportsmanship behaviors. Then as you say the names, ask the students to echo each name to honor those students. Lastly, if there is time or on another day, copy the personalized handouts for each student with their name. You may change the wording if you wish!!! Following Directions SEL Activity

In this SEL product, you will get 3 handouts. One is the directions you will give to students with prompts for them to follow your directions. There are 6 prompts; cut out the 4 pictures, glue the bird on top of the tree, glue the ball on the left side of the tree, glue the puppy to the right of the tree, and glue the sun on the top right corner of the page. Then students are instructed to color the picture. There is a picture of the final scene if the students follow the directions. The 2nd one is the handout for the students to cut out images and glue them onto the handout. There are 4 images to cut out; a ball, a bird, a puppy, and a sun. They will glue around a tree. The 3rd is a fun mindfulness coloring sheet with owls (they are wise to follow directions) with the title "I'm A 1st Time Listener!" This is a great lesson for helping students put into practice after learning the tips for following directions and paying attention in school. You first can go over the key tips such as 1) Look at the speaker, 2) Listen to the directions, 3) Say O.K. (acknowledge the task), and then 4) Do the activity or task. Following directions is a great skill to model and practice. It is important to not assume students know this skill-especially after the pandemic. In my own work as a school counselor, I have noticed students have difficulty with even the most simple directions. Hopefully, this activity will help your students as well.
