Classroom Rules Poster - What to do when someone else is talking

Classroom Rules Poster - What to do when someone else is talking
Resources for Teachers, Classroom Management, Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, Teacher Tools, Diagrams, Charts

This half-sheet classroom rules poster is simple, yet effective. It reminds students of important protocol; what to do when someone else is talking. That does NOT just mean the teacher, but when any one person is speaking to the group/class, everyone else should be doing these three things: 1. Looking at the person who is speaking (for this, there is an image of an eye -my eye!). 2. Be silent (for this, there is an image of a mouth crossed out -my mouth!). 3. Keep your hands down (for this, there is an image of a hand with an arrow pointing down -yup, my hand!). This last one is the most underrated- it irks me so much when kids raise their hands when someone else is sharing, like all they're thinking about is what THEY want to say, so they're likely not truly listening to the speaker. My favorite thing about this poster is that, after it is explained, I simply have to point to it and make eye contact with the person who is forgetting the rules on the sign!

Animal Habitat Sorting – 3-Way Venn Diagram

Animal Habitat Sorting – 3-Way Venn Diagram
Science, Earth and Environmental Sciences, Earth Sciences, Not Grade Specific, Diagrams, Teacher Tools

This activity features a Venn diagram depicting the arctic tundra, woodland, and American grasslands along with multiple discs depicting wild animals. Children can spend time researching the species depicted and sort them into those that live in the different habitats and discover where they overlap. This is a great stepping stone to discuss how animals are adapted to different environments. To create a tactile finished item I highly recommend printing onto high-quality paper, I like to use watercolor paper as this also allows the children to add their own paintings to the pages they create and means that every piece looks and feels like an original painting.

Let’s be honest: finding high school curriculum that is genuinely tough but actually keeps a teenager’s attention is a massive challenge. When my daughter and I hit this stage, I knew I did not want another textbook that just asked her to memorize basic biology facts. I wanted something that would challenge her to think and question like a real scientist. That is exactly why I put together this High School Tardigrade Extremotolerance Unit . I wanted to create something that could easily turn a kitchen table or a standard classroom into a hands-on research lab. Instead of just another dry nature study, this unit dives deep into how these tiny creatures impact modern medicine. It is a fantastic, stress-free way to build your teen's confidence and get them completely ready for college-level science. INCLUDED IN THIS RESOURCE: 10-Day comprehensive lesson plan. 30-slide presentation deck with notes. 25-question test with answer key. Research project rubric and grading scale. TOPICS COVERED: Tardigrade anatomy and phylum. Cryptobiosis and vitrification. Dsup protein and DNA repair. Biomedical and medical technology. I also made sure this unit is completely open-and-go, focusing entirely on big-picture understanding instead of mind-numbing memorization. Whether you are working one-on-one at home or leading a busy co-op group, I have done the heavy lifting for you. The included instructor notes break down complex biological concepts into easy-to-explain talking points, while the open-ended project options let your teen lean into what they care about most. You are not just downloading another digital file to clog up your hard drive; you are getting a reliable, stress-free roadmap to help your student/homeschooler truly thrive. Another way to use the sequencing cards is to place the cards on a ring in the correct order so students can flip through the life cycle of an oak tree. Where to Use: Besides the science center, the teacher can use the life cycle poster as an instructional tool to show and teach students about the life cycle of an oak tree. The cards can also be placed in a pocket chart by students or the teacher to represent the life cycle with a hands-on activity. The oak tree life cycle poster is a no prep display the teacher can use to teach about this science concept. The poster can be printed on card stock or laminated for durability.
