Architecture Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzle
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Kindergarten, Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables, Crosswords Puzzles
Architecture Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this architecture vocabulary puzzle set for my 3rd and 4th graders during our art and design unit. The kids could point to a building but had no idea what words like column, arch, or facade meant when I tried to explain the parts of a structure. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like architecture, building, structure, design, column, pillar, arch, dome, roof, foundation, facade, plan, blueprint, scale, and architect. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the architecture vocabulary finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or indoor recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether an arch is the same as a dome. The crossword I use for partners or as a review. I added a couple simple column, arch, and building outline drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 3rd through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers name one famous building and its location on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the Father's Day vocabulary finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or indoor recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether a tie is still a good Father's Day gift. The crossword I use for partners or as a review. I added a couple simple tie, heart, and card drawings but nothing too busy. Works for K through 3rd grade. Print and go. US State Capitals word search, scramble and crossword puzzle
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Kindergarten, Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables, Crosswords Puzzles
US State Capitals word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I threw together this US state capitals puzzle pack one afternoon when my 4th graders were zoning out during geography. They could name California and Texas but had zero clue what a capital even was or why every state has one. So I made a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using the capitals from all 50 states. Nothing fancy just something to keep them busy while the vocabulary sinks in. The PDF is four pages total. Three student puzzles and one answer key. I use the word search after recess when they need to calm down. The scramble gets them debating they always mix up which capital goes with which state. The crossword works better in pairs. I added a couple of tiny star and map doodles but nothing distracting. Works for 4th and 5th grade. I just print and hand them out. Sometimes I ask early finishers to pick five capitals and write the matching state next to each on the back. The kids don't complain about these the way they do with regular worksheets.

Examples include LCM of 3 and 4 is 12, LCM of 2 and 5 is 10, LCM of 4 and 6 is 12. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the LCM concept finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about why LCM is important for adding fractions. The crossword I use for partners. I added a couple simple number line and skip counting drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers find the LCM of 4 and 5 on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Glaciers and Ice Caps word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this glaciers and ice caps puzzle set for my 3rd and 4th graders during our Earth science unit. The kids knew ice was cold but had no idea that glaciers move or that ice caps hold most of the world's freshwater. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like glacier, ice cap, iceberg, ice sheet, polar, Antarctica, Arctic, Greenland, melt, frozen, freshwater, sea level, climate, erosion, and retreat. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the vocabulary sink in. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue over the difference between a glacier and an iceberg. The crossword I use for partners. I added a couple simple ice and mountain drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 2nd through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers explain why melting ice caps matter on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.
