50 States Word Search

This product is a set of four word searches for the 50 United States of America. There is one word search for each region of the country. A single word search with all 50 states is NOT included. The 50 states are broken up into geographic regions, according to the US census, hence four different words searches (for the Northeast, Midwest, South, and West). I have included an answer key for teachers. PLEASE NOTE: some of the words are BACKWARDS, going from right to left, or bottom to top. In these cases, I have indicated so with a directional arrow on the answer key. All the other words go vertically from top to bottom, or horizontally from left to right. There are NO diagonal words. This set of word searches is appropriate for later elementary school grades, or beginning middle school grades. They offer a fun activity for kids, and an easy one for teachers? As an extension, students could color each state in on a map as they find it on the word search.
