About This Product

Practice scissor skills and cutting with these acorn fine motor cutting worksheets. Students will use scissors to cut shapes, lines and make snips using these fall acorn themed worksheets.

What is included:

There are 11 different cutting practice worksheets and activities. There are 3 cutting shapes (acorns and tree), 2 fold and cut crafts (acorns), 1 snipping worksheets, and 5 line cutting worksheets.

How to Use:

  • Cutting Shapes: Students will choose a cutting worksheet. They will color the image on the page and then cut along the dashed line.

  • Fold and Cut Craft: Students will choose a fold and cut craft template. They will fold the page in half along the dashed line and then cut along the solid line to create their symmetry craft.

  • Snipping Worksheet: Students will snip the lines around the edge of the page, being careful not to cut past the acorn image.

  • Line Cutting Worksheets: Students will practice cutting straight, curved, and zig zag lines, being careful to stay on the dashed lines and stopping at the acorn image.

When to Use:

  • Fine Motor Center - The worksheets and scissors can be placed in a fine motor center for students to complete independently during center time.

  • Morning Tubs - These worksheets and scissors can be put inside a morning basket for students to work on while waiting for classmates to arrive to class.

  • Quiet Time Activity - This activity works well for students who do not nap. Once classmates are asleep, students can work quietly cutting the images and lines on these worksheets.

The worksheets in this set are a no-prep, print and go, activity. The worksheets just need to be printed and handed to the student. Once made, the teacher just needs to add scissors to the worksheets and the center is all set.

Skills Assessed:

  • This activity helps build scissor skills as students practice cutting on the dashed lines.

  • This activity helps with hand eye coordination as students follow the lines with the scissors.
