Acorn Pom Pom Mats

Use these acorn pom pom mats to help students build their fine motor skills. Add tweezers for some extra fine motor activity to make this fall themed activity come alive and motivate and engage students to practice this skill.

There are 15 different pom pom mats for students to complete that target different fine motor and color recognition skills.

• There are 5 pom pom mats for students to match the colorful pom poms to the correct colored dot on the image.

• There are 7 pom pom mats for students to build the shapes. Students can build each shape directly on the pom pom mat by placing the pom poms on top of the pom pom images. These mats are differentiated for students who need more of a challange.

• There are 3 pom pom mats for students to complete the grid. The most difficult of the three mats, students will look at the sample grid on the page and attempt to recreate the image on their blank grid.

When to Use:

• Fine Motor Center- The mats and pom poms can be placed in a fine motor center for students to complete independently during center time.

• Morning Tubs - The mats and pom poms can be put inside a morning basket or used as morning work for students to work on while waiting for classmates to arrive to class.

• Quiet Time Activity - This activity works well for students who do not nap. Once classmates are asleep, students can work quietly building each image.

• Sub Plans - These are great to include in a substitute folder, as this activity is easy to assign and keeps students actively engaged.

These pom pom mats are no prep. They just need to be printed out and placed in the desired area with pom poms and tweezers for students to complete. By laminating the ppm pom mats, teachers can create a reusable activity that students can do again and again.
