Activities and Crafts for Día de los Muertos Ofrenda, Calaveras

About This Product
My pupils were always in need of something to grasp.
Making a marigold with a pair of scissors, a template, and 10 minutes is not the same as explaining Día de los Muertos on a whiteboard.
This pack is meant to fill that gap.
For use in elementary classrooms, it is a 20-page printable PDF.
Students assemble candles and calaveras, cut marigold flowers, prepare papel picado, construct a paper ofrenda, and set up food offerings.
Planning sheets, a design-your-own calavera sheet, a matching exercise, a maze, a word search, an observation page, and writing prompts for reflection may be found in between the crafts.
The point is the physical labor.
Fine motor skills are developed by cutting and adhering. Visual decision-making is enhanced by calavera decoration.
Writing the reflection helps you expand your vocabulary and develop the habit of thinking about what you've just learnt.
The kind of meticulous attention that is seen throughout the institution is developed by adhering to multi-step patterns.
It is effective for homeschool days, bilingual and Spanish classes, art stations, cultural centers, and October and November modules.
Those that finish early will cheerfully burn through it.
It's important to state clearly that Día de los Muertos customs vary from family to family and from place to place.
Elements that frequently appear are presented in this set.
It encourages pupils to ask questions rather than make assumptions and does not regard any one version of the holiday as the only correct one.
