Desert Animals word search, scramble and crossword

⭐I made this desert animals puzzle set for my 3rd and 4th graders during our habitat unit. The kids thought the desert was just sand and snakes until we started talking about it. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like camel, scorpion, rattlesnake, meerkat, vulture, lizard, and cactus. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help them remember the vocabulary without groaning.

⭐ The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search is good for quiet time after lunch. The scramble gets them arguing over how to spell "rattlesnake" or where the second T goes in "scorpion." The crossword I save for partners. I added a couple simple sun and cactus drawings but nothing distracting.

⭐Works for 2nd through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I ask early finishers to circle the animal that lives in a den and write a sentence on the back. The kids actually reach for these on their own now.
