Greater Than Less Than Equal To Worksheets | Comparing Place Value

About This Product
It may seem simple to compare numbers, but when a kid looks at 403 vs. 430, they go blank.
These moments are the foundation of this pack.
Ten worksheets are included.
They begin with clear three-digit comparisons where the hundreds digits are clearly different, then move on to ever less clear comparisons of the same hundreds, complex tens, unexpected zeros, enlarged form, and missing digits.
In contrast to just making accurate comparisons, the final few pages require pupils to identify and rectify inaccurate comparison symbols.
It is worthwhile to discuss the word difficulties independently.
While drilling the symbols alone is effective, children tend to retain the skill longer when they see it applied in a real-world situation.
Instead of being covert symbol drills, these issues are written to feel like real-world situations.
The range of grades is 2–4. For second graders who are just beginning to become used to three-digit numerals, the first half of the pack makes sense.
Third and fourth graders, especially advanced second graders, would benefit more from the expanded-form and error-correction pages.
Answer keys are included, the pages are black and white, and there is no bother.
It can be used for review days, math centers, homework, or a brief check-in at the conclusion of a unit.
If you need something to put in a folder, the last page serves as a skills evaluation.
