About This Product

Children adore Halloween.

They also enjoy creating things that are uniquely theirs.

Put both in one location with Disguise a Ghost.

Students create a ghost character from the ground up by coloring it, choosing a disguise, drawing its appearance, giving it a name, and discovering its true identity. They then write a brief narrative about what occurs when the disguise nearly fails.

Each of the ten printed pages is an advancement.

A ghost template for coloring, a disguise inspiration page, an open drawing area, a naming and character information page, a brief description prompt, a secret identity page, a reveal drawing, a three-prompt tale page, and a classroom display version are all included in the packet.

Nothing to prepare other than printing, including cutting and pasting.

Although the writing assignments are brief, they complement one another.

Students have already identified their ghost by the time they get to the tale page.

That makes the writing easier and, honestly, more interesting to read.

Grades 1 through 4.

Younger kids can keep it simple and lean into the art. Kids in the upper grades tend to go deep on the secret identity stuff.

The Halloween theme stays fun without veering into anything spooky or age-inappropriate.

It's a ghost in a costume with a whole life behind it.

Students tend to get attached.
