Teaching tips & learning objectives
Learning objectives
Conjugate the verb aller correctly for each subject pronoun (je, tu, il/elle/on, nous, vous, ils/elles).
Build a complete futur proche sentence (aller + infinitive) from a given verb and subject.
Reorder scrambled words into a grammatically correct futur proche sentence.
Rewrite an affirmative futur proche sentence in the negative form (ne...pas).
Teaching tips
Work through the six sections in order, since each builds on the previous one, moving from recognizing the correct form of aller to producing original negative-form sentences.
Use exercise 5 (negative form) as a checkpoint, since it requires students to correctly conjugate aller and correctly place ne...pas around it.
Assign exercise 6 as a quick formative check, since students choose their own verb and the answer key notes that answers may vary.
Skills covered
Aller conjugation — students recall and apply the correct present-tense form of aller for each subject pronoun.
Futur proche sentence construction — students combine a conjugated form of aller with an infinitive to express near-future actions.
Word-order awareness — students reorder scrambled words into a grammatically correct French sentence.
Negation — students correctly place ne...pas around the conjugated verb to form a negative futur proche sentence.
