Math Manipulatives: Pattern Blocks Printables

Students will identify and name six pattern-block shapes: trapezoid, rhombus, skinny rhombus, square, triangle, and hexagon.

Students will sort a set of pattern blocks by shape using a labeled sorting mat.

Students will build an original design with pattern blocks and record how many of each shape they used.

Introduce the six shape names using the "I Can Find Shapes!" page before handing out physical pattern blocks, so students can match the labeled picture to the block in hand

Use the tally chart on the "I Can Make Designs!" pages as a quick counting check, having students total how many blocks they used altogether after recording each shape
