Students will get to show what they know about shapes with this My Shape Book. Each booklet will have its own cover pages. For each shape page, they can trace the name of the shape and write how many sides it has.

There is a 2D and 3D shape word bank at the end of the booklet. Pages are printed 2 per page.

Learning objectives
Identify and name six basic 2D shapes: square, triangle, rhombus, hexagon, trapezoid and circle.
Count and record the number of sides for each shape using a repeated sentence frame.
Recognize additional 2D and 3D shape vocabulary from the closing word bank.
Teaching tips
Each shape page repeats its sentence frame twice, so print single-sided and cut in half to make two individual mini-books, or leave the sheet whole for two students to share.
Use the closing word bank to preview vocabulary -- including rectangle, skinny rhombus, and the seven 3D shape names -- before or after assembling the book.
Have students color and personalize the booklet cover and name line as the final assembly step to make it a take-home keepsake.
