National Pretzel Day Word Search - Classroom Fun!

Hey fellow teachers! Here's a word search I made for National Pretzel Day (April 26th) that my 3rd graders absolutely loved last year. It's a simple 2-page PDF with 24 pretzel-themed words hidden in all directions - basic enough for younger kids but still fun for older elementary students.

You'll find yummy words like:

• "salty"

• "dough"

• "twist"

• "mustard" (their favorite!)

I used this when:
• Celebrating food holidays
• Needing a quick activity before lunch
• Teaching about local bakeries

The second page is just an answer key - nothing fancy, but super helpful when you need to check work fast. I printed mine on tan paper to look like pretzels, and the kids thought that was hilarious!

Last year, we did this right before our pretzel taste-test (soft vs. hard pretzels), and the classroom smelled amazing. The word search got them excited about trying new foods while practicing spelling.
