⭐I made this nocturnal animals puzzle set for my 2nd and 3rd graders during our animal behavior unit. The kids were fascinated by animals that stay up all night but got bored quickly with regular review sheets. So I threw together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like owl, bat, raccoon, fox, spider, firefly, and possum. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to keep them engaged without extra prep for me.

⭐The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search is good for quiet time after lunch. The scramble gets them talking because they argue over how to spell "firefly" or "raccoon." The crossword I save for partners. I added a couple simple moon and bat drawings but nothing too distracting.

⭐Works for 1st through 4th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I ask early finishers to circle their favorite animal and write one sentence about why it stays awake at night. That's it. The kids actually like these.
