About This Product

This first aid kit labels and supply lists set teaches students to read a kit contents list, supply labels, and expiration dates, and to know when to tell an adult.

Why I made this: A student was asked to "check the first aid box" at his job. He saw it had stuff in it and closed it. It was out of gloves and full of expired gauze. This set teaches what checking a kit really means: count, read the dates, and tell someone.

What's included:

• A 13-page PDF and an editable Word copy

• A teacher page with a three-level table and a 2-week plan

• 3 documents: a kit contents list, six supply labels with expiration dates, and a kit check sheet with a "who to tell" box

• Level A ●: 10 cards with 2 choices, in 16 point type

• Level B ■: 10 cards with 3 choices

• Level C ▲: 10 short-answer cards

• 3 practice pages, an answer key, a data sheet with a 10-session graph, a try-it-for-real page, and blank cards

How to use it: Read the contents list first, then the labels and the check sheet. Do one level at a time and use the card codes to check. Level C can be spoken or written. Then check a real kit with an adult at school, at home, or at a job site.

Who it's for: High school special education teachers, 18-21 program teachers, job coaches, and families teaching inventory and safety reading.

Format: PDF, US Letter, 13 pages, plus an editable Word copy. Prints well in black and white.

How this is different: Workplace Incident + Near-Miss Report Forms | Functional Writing | Job Skills teaches writing a report after something happens. Asking for Help Task Box | Self-Advocacy Social Skills for Special Ed teaches how to ask. This set teaches reading a first aid kit list and supply dates, with no medicines and no treatment steps.

Pairs with: Workplace Incident + Near-Miss Report Forms | Functional Writing | Job Skills; Asking for Help Task Box | Self-Advocacy Social Skills for Special Ed; Reading Medicine Labels | OTC Drug Facts Reading Practice | Life Skills SPED
