Father's Day directed drawing cover, 'Joyeuse fête des pères !', with three colored DAD comic-burst samples
Cover of the French directed drawing lesson
Five drawing tips in French (draw lightly in pencil) and materials list: paper, pencil, ruler, eraser, colors
Drawing tips and materials list before the steps
Step 1 (Étape 1): lightly write DAD in big letters mid-page; a note suggests PAPA, PÈRE, ONCLE or PAPI instead
Step 1 of the 7-step drawing
Step 2 (Étape 2): lightly trace around each letter of DAD to make thick bubble letters
Step 2: outlining each letter
Step 3 (Étape 3): 'Effacez les lignes à l'intérieur' (erase the inside lines), leaving hollow DAD letters
Step 3: erasing the inner lines
Step 4 (Étape 4): trace once around the outside of all the letters, giving DAD a second outline
Step 4: adding an outer outline
Step 5 (Étape 5): draw a frame of triangle shapes around DAD, forming a spiky comic-burst shape
Step 5: drawing the triangle frame
Step 6 (Étape 6): 'Tracez le cadre une fois' (trace the frame once), adding a second spiky outline around DAD
Step 6: tracing around the frame
Step 7 (Étape 7): add decorations around DAD using sample stars, crowns, tools, a mustache, tie and heart
Step 7: adding decorations, the final step
Finished example, 'Exemple d'une image décorée': DAD burst with stars, crown, mustache, hearts, S and tools
