U.S. States and Capitals Set 2 TASK CARDS

Add this set of 20 task cards to your social studies or U.S. history curriculum. Your learners will have a great time finding answers about 20 of the states and capitals within the United States. They’ll use a variety of learning techniques as they focus on states from Massachusetts through South Carolina (in alphabetical order). By the time they complete the set of task cards, not only will their skills in this area be stronger, but they will have gained fun facts about each state as well. This is not just another activity where learners are simply repeating facts they’ve memorized. Your learners in grade 5, grade 6, or grade 7 will enjoy the challenge each of the cards presents. They’ll be asked to find either the name of the given state or its capital by using written and/or visual clues. Concepts presented include silhouettes of states, state flags, year of statehood, state flowers, and state birds. Some clues also require map skills as learners are asked to identify states by their geographic location. If you’ve used task cards before, you know they offer a different level of learning as they get learners up and moving. They can be used indoors on a rainy day or outdoors when the weather beckons. One of the best parts is, putting a bit of prep work in at the beginning will end up saving you time and money in the future. For year over year use, print the cards on cardstock and laminate. Then you have a fun and simple learning activity for years to come. You’ll also save ink or reduce the number of copies as the answer recording sheets come two per page.
