Teaching tips & learning objectives

Teaching tips

  • Post one of the full-page visuals at the carpet or meeting area, where the whole class can be pointed at it during a transition rather than being told the expectation again in words

  • Cut the two-to-a-sheet pages down the middle for a desk copy, a folder insert or a small card a student keeps to hand

  • Print the black-and-white version for the copies that go home or into individual folders and keep the colour version for the wall display

Skills covered

  • Classroom display preparation — teachers print and post a full-page listening visual at the carpet or front of the room as a standing reference.

  • Individual visual support — the two-to-a-sheet pages cut down to card size for a student who needs the reminder within reach rather than on the wall.

  • Low-cost reprinting — a black-and-white version of the same visuals is supplied, so replacement copies for desks and folders do not need colour printing.

Good to know

Questions teachers ask about this resource

Can the visuals be run off on a mono printer?

Yes. The cover states "Black and white versions included too!", so the same visuals are supplied in a greyscale set as well as in colour — useful for the copies that go into folders or home.

Why are there two different sizes of the same visual?

The full-page versions are sized for a wall or carpet-area display the whole class can see, while the sheets that carry the visual twice cut into smaller cards for an individual student's desk or folder. The cover describes both uses: the whole class, or students who need extra support remembering whole body listening.
