These plant themed number cards are perfect for students who are learning with a plant theme. They make the perfect tool for students to learn numbers up to 20. What is Included: This set includes one number card and one number word card for all numbers up to 20. Ideas for Using the Number Cards: Invite students to play a matching activity by pairing each number with its corresponding number word. Turn the cards into a hands on fishing game by attaching paper clips and using a magnetic fishing rod for students to “catch” the numbers. Place the cards in a sand or salt tray so students can trace or write the numbers and number words for tactile practice. Hide the cards around the classroom and have students go on a number scavenger hunt to find and identify each one. Challenge students to arrange the cards in correct numerical order, working independently or as a group. Use a pocket chart to create a guessing game by placing the cards in the chart and hiding a picture behind one number. Students take turns guessing which number is hiding the picture. Students will have fun putting these cubes together with glue or tape (I recommend cardstock for durability). Allow students to sort animals by what they eat. Students can sort by animal by whether they are carnivores, herbivores, or omnivores. What is Included: There are three sorting card headers for carnivores, herbivores, or omnivores. There are eight sorting mats for carnivores, herbivores, or omnivores. There are six picture cards for each of the three sets of sorting activities. Each sorting mat includes a real life example of an animal that belongs in that animal group. The activity involves sorting and grouping different non-identical items, which can be used to develop cognitive skills such as categorization, visual discrimination, and problem-solving. To begin the activity , the learner is presented with a sorting picture. Pictures include in this activity : dog doughnut ice cream bar apple shoes chair butterfly hotdog car rabbit socks happy face The next step is to provide the learner with six corresponding sorting cards, each picture non identical to the sorting picture. The items on the sorting cards may vary in color, size, shape, and other attributes, which allows the learner to practice visual discrimination and identify key characteristics of each category. The learner's task is to sort/group each individual sorting card to the correct sorting picture. This requires the learner to analyze and compare the different items, and determine which picture they belong to based on their similarities and differences. As the learner progresses through the activity , they can be challenged to group the items in different ways, such as by color, size, shape, or texture. This encourages the learner to think creatively and develop flexible thinking skills. This early learning sorting activity provides an engaging and interactive way to develop cognitive skills and promote learning in a fun and playful manner. This activity is easy to create and is clean and clear of visual distractions which allows the learner to focus on the task at hand. First print and laminate all cards, then cut out the individual sorting cards and velcro to the corresponding picture activity mat. If have a coil binder you can coil bind this activity , or else you can three hole punch the mats and put them in a binder or use binding rings for many years of teaching and learning. Busy Learning More Shapes Activity

We have so many new skills to teach our young learners, so ensuring that we can keep them engaged very early on is so important. Two ways to do this is by incorporating topics they are interested in and by providing them with hands-on activities. This is a Busy Learning More Shapes Activity that is great for your 1st and 2nd grade students. You can use this to introduce shapes or review it for students who have already mastered shape identification. It is a 4-page printable. You may choose to print copies of each page for every student to complete as a cut and paste activity . It may also be good to print a few copies and laminate them for repeated use. If you choose to laminate them, you can attach Velcro dots to the colored shapes so students can match them up. Students would also be able to use dry erase markers to trace the names of the shapes. On the first two pages, you have the outlined shapes with their names inside of the shapes. Students will trace the names of the shapes. On the last two pages, you have the colorful shapes without their names printed. This is a great way for students to practice shape identification, learn about angles and sides, and get familiar with shape names. I hope you enjoy! This letter sound sort for the letter X is a great hands on activity for recognizing the most common sound of the letter X. This is an easy and fun activity to give students who need practice with recognizing the letter X sound from amongst other letter sounds or for those students who need extra practice distinguishing between the ending sounds in words. To complete this sorting activity , students will look at a picture on a fox to determine if the picture ends with the letter X or does not end with the letter X, and then the students will place the fox on the correct forest mat. This sorting activity includes 3 pages that contains One forest mat for pictures that end with the letter X One forest mat for pictures that do not end with the letter X Fox pictures that end with X Fox pictures that do not end with X This ending sound sort can be used in the following ways Literacy centers Fine motor centers File folder activity Add magnets to the picture cards for a baking tray activity Small group activities Morning work Emergency sub plans If making a file folder game, the teacher will place the mats on either side of the folder and use hook and loop fasteners to sort the fox pictures.
