Adverbs Animal Mysteries Activity
ELA, Grammar, Grade 2, 3, 4, Activities
Here is an Adverbs Animal Mysteries Activity that your students will love! These mysteries were designed with 2nd – 4th grade students in mind. Students will have a blast helping Mr. Harrison crack the cases. What You Get: There are two mysteries included. The Case of the Food Fight This version is higher level with more application focused questions and more advanced sentences. Recommended for grades 3-4. The Case of the Missing Ticket Kiosk This version is lower level with more identification focused questions and less advanced sentences. Recommended for grades 2-3. Both versions include an extended writing opportunity, suspect list, and answer key. How This Activity Works: For students to eliminate suspects, they must follow the steps of the clues. These clues require critical thinking as they decide which animals need to be crossed out. I suggest pre-teaching this and explaining how to eliminate suspects to avoid confusion. Example: A clue that says, “The culprit’s name has the number of letters as your answer.” with the answer of 4 means that the culprit’s name has EXACTLY 4 letters. Students will need to cross off any animals that do NOT have 4 letters in their name. I hope you enjoy!

Animals to Color - Book of 10: Science Coloring Pages
Creative Arts, Art, Science, Life Sciences, Animals, Kindergarten, Preschool, Grade 1, 2, Activities
Animals to Color - Book of 10: Science Coloring Pages Here is a super pack of 10, hand-drawn pictures of animals for children to color. The study of the natural world is the foundation for the later study of science. The colouring of pictures of natural things, be it plants or animals, is more than a pastime activity. It is a means of familiarising young children with these everyday subjects. The coloring of these animal pictures can of course, be used as a pastime, or even as part of a creative lesson - the pictures look super framed - but they have the potential to teach much more. The UK National Curriculum for Science expects children to be taught to use the local environment to study plants and animals throughout the year. What better than to use familiar subjects - such as bagers, moles, hedgehogs and more to teach much about the natural world? Coloring can help children to become familiar with the parts of the Robin: ask questions: How is a fox like a stoat? Can you liken them to any of the other creatures? How is a hedgehog different from the other animals? Coloring a picture of an animal can also help children to become familiar with the characteristics of those animals - shape, habits, size, color etc... It is best if children color the animal pictures with the use of reference books to get accurate colors. Who are these coloring pictures of animals for? Anybody. Older children will extend the activity further than younger ones, Uses for the coluring pictures of animals Use to help children learn the name of the frog and to recognise them. Use to make Seasonal Cards Use as part of a science lesson Use for a basis for collage work Paint or color. What is included in the pack? 1 sheet to be coloured 1 sheet giving an example of how the picture could be coloured.

Weekly Science Syllabus Doodle Notes
ELA, Writing, Graphic Arts, Creative Arts, Science, High School, Homeschool Resources, Middle School, Worksheets & Printables, Writing Prompts, Teacher Tools, Graphic Organizers, Templates, Outlines
Are you ready to breathe new life into your science lessons? T hese Weekly Science Syllabus Doodle Notes were born out of my own frustration as a homeschool mom trying to juggle curriculum planning while keeping my kids actually interested in science. Trust me, I have spent countless late nights staring at bland planning sheets thinking, "There has to be a better way!" After one too many uninspiring science lessons, I created these templates that have completely transformed how we approach science in our homeschool. These are not just another pretty printable—they are the answer to that moment when you realize your kiddo has retained exactly zero information from last week's lesson on photosynthesis! I have designed them to be your visual playground, where mapping out experiments and research activities becomes something you and your students/homeschoolers actually look forward to. My own teenage daughter went from groaning about science to pointing at their doodle notes saying, "Remember when we did that cool experiment?" The secret sauce? These notes engage both the logical and creative sides of your brain, which means those scientific concepts finally stick—no more blank stares when you ask, "Remember what we learned last Tuesday?" These have been a game-changer in our homeschool, and I can't wait for them to transform yours too! INCLUDED IN THIS RESOURCE: ✔Comprehensive weekly science planning template with visually engaging design ✔Designated spaces for scientific learning objectives, content focus, and instructor information ✔Daily sections for documenting science classwork, lab activities, quizzes, and attendance ✔Specialized reading assignment sections for scientific texts and research articles ✔Homework planning areas with website research recommendations and writing prompts ✔Visual note-taking spaces that connect scientific concepts with creative representation ✔Structured organization that accommodates the unique needs of science instruction Sunday nights used to be my nightmare—frantically scrambling to plan science lessons while dreading the glazed-over looks I would get from my teenager the next day. Sound familiar? Those days are OVER! With these Weekly Science Syllabus Doodle Notes , I have actually caught myself looking forward to planning time (weird, right?). Let me tell you, juggling high school science with a creative teen who'd rather be doing anything else pushed me to my breaking point. My kitchen table was buried under boring worksheets that neither of us was excited about. That is when I decided to create these templates—not because I am some super-organized homeschool mom (ha!), but because I desperately needed something that would work for both my planning sanity AND my visually-oriented teenager. The magic happens when organization meets creativity! Now my daughter can actually see what is coming each week, and those complex scientific concepts finally stick because the visual elements speak her language. I still cannot believe how much easier our science days flow now! Seriously, grab these today—your future bleary-eyed, lesson-planning self will high-five you when you realize science class has transformed from a battle to the highlight of your homeschool week! If you and your students/homeschoolers enjoyed this resource, please leave a review. Thank you for your support! Tina - Big Easy Homeschooling Mom Website: tidewindacademyhomeschool.com

Write A Persuasive Holiday Brochure (7-11 years)
ELA, Writing, Grade 3, 4, 5, Worksheets & Printables, Worksheets
Write A Persuasive Holiday Brochure Ask the child to read the travel information from The Rushford Gazette's special holiday feature. They will learn about using good adjectives, verbs, adverbs and rhetorical and other persuasive devices. The child is then asked to write their own travel information on the Norfolk Broads. After this, they are asked to make a holiday brochure for a holiday in Europe. Lots of prompts are given to choose from, as well as lists of suitable words and phrases to use. Write About Your Dream Holiday Destination George and Christabelle of Guinea Pig Radio ask their listeners what they would do if they could take off and go anywhere in the world. In this pack, the child is asked to write about their dream holiday destination. Then, they are asked to read the listeners texts and emails and to imagine these dreams came true and to write the listeners stories. Lastly, the child is asked to use the question prompts to write about a holiday that they have enjoyed. This series provides prompts to encourage children, of 7-11 years, to write. It provides starting points, to encourage even the most reluctant writers. In fact, the writer regularly dips into these packs for her own tutorial classes. With their lively 'magazine style' format, they are an ideal study aid to consolidate work on planning and writing stories and non fiction articles, expanding vocabulary and include many examples of children's work. As well as this, the packs contain some very useful tips on writing techniques (as in writing simple, compound and complex sentences). The work in these packs will inspire children, who are practicing for exams, to write, and provide starting points for even the most reluctant writer, including those children with special educational needs and where English is a second language. The work packs are ideal for home study and will reinforce the work done in school. They may be purchased in any order. There are a number of titles to choose from. By working through the packs, the student will grow in confidence and will learn to enjoy writing. The packs are also a useful resource for teachers and save hours of time when preparing lessons or homework tasks.

Guided Reading Level G - Amazing Inventions (with Lesson Plan)
ELA, Resources for Teachers, Reading Comprehension, Reading, Science, Engineering, Technology, Language Development, Pre-Reading, Vocabulary, Grade 1, 2, 3, Worksheets & Printables, Worksheets, Teacher Tools, Centers, Activities, Literacy Readers, Quizzes, Quizzes and Tests, Assessments, Lesson Plans
This Guided Reading Book - Amazing Inventions (Level G) with lesson plan includes: Guided Reading Color Label (front cover x1) This is a quick way to match the book’s demands to what students can generally handle.. The overall goal is to use the level/color to pick books for several smaller groups. To qualify for a certain level, a student is expected to read a book from that level with about 90–94% accuracy. If a student is consistently accurate and understands, move up a level. If the student is struggling at that level, drop down and add more support. Each student will improve at completely different rates, but it is generally one of the best ways to check progress across the class. DOWNLOAD THE CATALOG TO VIEW ALL GUIDED READING BOOKS AVAILABLE (SORTED LEVELS A-Z) Pre-Reading Question (x1) Teacher asks the prompt aloud, can be while showing the cover or first page. Students share what they already know, or make educated guesses from the cover. Prompt them to use the target vocabulary. Write some of their responses on the board to look back at during the reading. Vocabulary Words (x5) Introduce the five words, best doing it one at a time. Start by saying it, while students repeat and then see if anyone knows what it means before reading further. Read through the meaning and try to briefly connect each word to a picture or gesture so it’s meaningful. Ask students to flip through the book pages and point to where they see each of the vocabulary words. While reading the book pause upon coming across one of the vocab words or read the sentence twice to make sure students understand the word has appeared. Optional: Ask students to raise hands whenever they see/hear one of the new words. Guided Reading Pages (x10) Check the book snapshot (below) for: primary topic - do you need to prep extra reading or intro materials on this? what is taught best - decide on 1-2 bullets to focus on, use the prompt or words provided here for best results. learning goals - what you are checking for students to be able to do after the session, elicit answers using prompts or words provided. key vocabulary (see section above). questions overview - so you know what is coming up and if you need to prep extra materials to assist understanding. Run the lesson You may have already looked at a few of the pages together, but you can show them some of the pictures again first to set meaning. Depending on how much time you have and how familiar your students are with guided reading class, you may want to read the book aloud first with the group first. Students whisper or partner read, while you listen in. If time, do it as a group, one student reading a page each. Use the guided page’s prompts to coach: “Check the picture / does it make sense?” “Point under the words / try the first sound” “Reread the sentence smoothly”. Try to focus more on one student per session (rotating every time), so you can work out if they are ready to move up or need to move down a level. Comprehension Questions (back cover x3) This is your way to check that students didn’t just say the words, but actually understood the text. First, let students answer by pointing to the page/picture and saying a short sentence. After any answer, follow with: “Show me where you found that in the text.” In bigger groups, have partners answer first (10–20 seconds), then call on 2–3 students to share. Differentiation tips: Emerging speakers/struggling readers: oral + pointing On-level: oral in a full sentence Higher: one written sentence or draw + label Book Snapshot Title: Amazing Inventions Genre: Nonfiction (informational text) Subject: Science/Technology + Reading (Informational Text) Primary Topic: Inventions and how they help people Estimated Guided Reading Level (A–Z): G What This Book Teaches Best Introduces common inventions (wheel, lightbulb, telephone, computer, camera, airplane, refrigerator, clock, robot) and what each one does. Explains how inventions help people in everyday life (moving heavy things, seeing in the dark, connecting over distances, doing work quickly, keeping food cold, telling time, doing chores). Builds understanding of technology as something that changes, with “new things… invented every day to help people.” Supports describing key details from short informational passages paired with clear photos. Learning Goals Identify several inventions named in the book and tell what each helps people do. Describe how a wheel helps move heavy things from place to place. Explain how a lightbulb helps people see when it is dark outside. Tell how a telephone connects people who are far apart. Describe one way computers help people work quickly and what they can do. Explain what the book says about technology changing and new inventions helping people. Key Vocabulary From the Text invention — something made for the first time to help people. electricity — power that runs lights and machines. distances — how far apart places are. refrigerator — a machine that keeps food cold. sensors — parts that help a machine notice what is around it. Discussion Prompts Pre-reading question: What inventions do you use, and how do they help you? Comprehension questions: How do wheels help move heavy things from place to place? Comprehension questions: What does a lightbulb help people do when it is dark outside? Comprehension questions: What does the book say about new technology and how it helps people? Printing Tips 1. Best Printing Method (Recommended) “Booklet” Printing (Best if Available) If your printer or PDF viewer supports Booklet Printing , use this. Settings to use: Print mode: Booklet Paper size: Letter or A4 (either works) Orientation: Landscape Print on both sides: Yes Flip on: Short edge Scaling: Fit to printable area Booklet subset: First test: Front sides only Then: Back sides only This will automatically: Pair pages correctly Put the cover on the outside Align everything for folding After printing, fold in half and staple along the spine . 2. If “Booklet” Printing Is NOT Available You can still print this correctly with manual duplex printing . Step-by-step: Open the PDF. Choose Print . Set: Orientation: Landscape Pages per sheet: 1 Print on both sides: Yes Flip on: Short edge Print all pages . Because each PDF page already contains two facing book pages, the result will still fold cleanly into a book. Thousands of Cored Education products are included with your TeachSimple membership.
