This decodable reader helps young learners build fluency by practicing CVC words alongside basic sight words. Designed for kindergarten and first grade, the short story focuses on the AP word family, giving students repeated exposure and extra practice reading simple, phonics-based vocabulary in context. What is Included: This resource contains one emergent reader titled "Nap Time," which includes one cover page and five pages for students to color and read. How to Use: Students will color each page of the book, cut the pages apart, and then assemble the book, making sure the cover page is on top. The subsequent pages can be placed in any order and still be read with meaning. Use a stapler or tape to secure the pages together. The repetitive nature of each page allows students to have success with reading and gives them extra practice with target words! The story and sentences in the book contain simple sight words and words from the word family targeted. This makes them easy for beginning readers to have success with creating and reading each book. Other Uses for this Book: The teacher may create the book by coloring, laminating, and assembling. The book can be placed in a classroom library, sent home, or placed in a reading center for students to read during an independent reading time, at home with parents, or during their center time.
