This TH decodable reading book + matching PowerPoint for guided reading is the 14th book in a series that can help children with special needs pupils develop reading fluency. Each book comes with a matching PowerPoint making it suitable for use in a range of settings. The Jack Stories, of which this book is one, introduces one phonic sound at a time, and subsequent books build on the vocabulary of the books before, constantly revising and reviewing learned sounds. Irregular sight words are only slowly and gradually introduced. Science of reading aligned. Based on the most up-to-date phonic research. These books should be read sequentially as they tell one long story, each telling a part. This book contains words with the following sounds: CK: OO, EE and SH and CH, ND & NT Endings and TH. The series of books can also be purchased as a growing bundle with a scope and sequence - one file, less clutter! This series has been written with the aid of one of my pupils, aged 8. He has drawn some of the pictures. What makes this phonic reading programme for special needs different? · It has its own, easy-to-download and print phonic reading books, making it accessible to many children worldwide. · Each book carefully builds on the vocabulary of those that have gone before, providing much repetition, without relying on predictable text. · Pictures aid the storyline without encouraging reading from the pictures – i.e. guessing. · The vocabulary is based on phonic families, which are introduced in a carefully planned way. · True sight words – those that cannot be sounded out - are kept to the very minimum. Most words are introduced in their phonic family wherever possible. · It is truly multisensory, using the power of the hand. We not only look at the words, but we write them too. This is powerful and has the bonus of turning the child not only into a reader but into a writer as well. Typical signs that this programme can help: Those with dyslexia, or suspected of having dyslexia Difficulty recalling words when seen on flashcards or when reading texts, which results in no or little reading fluency b/d letter reversal of a chronic nature – i.e. the child has not grown out of it Difficulty ordering letters in words: E.g. top becomes pot. Difficulty differentiating between like words: spoon/soon; back/black; sheep/sleep etc… Difficulty tracking words across a page How long is the book? The reading book is 16 pages long. 50 Math Puzzles for Grade 8

Eighth grade math has three main ideas. First, kids learn about expressions and equations. They use these to show how two things relate and solve number problems. They also learn about lines on a graph. Second, they learn what a function is. A function is like a rule. It says that one thing leads to only one other thing. Functions help show how amounts change together. Third, they study shapes in 2D and 3D. They learn about distance and angles. They see how shapes can be the same or just look the same. They also learn the Pythagorean Theorem. Kids use line equations to show and solve different problems. They understand that a function is a rule. For each thing you put in, you get only one thing out. Functions show how one amount depends on another. Kids use what they know about distance and angles with shapes. They see how shapes move, turn, and flip. They learn when shapes are exactly the same or just the same shape but different sizes. This helps them understand and solve shape problems. This paper has 50 math puzzles. These puzzles help students practice all the things they just learned. The answers are at the end.

The Hare and the Hedgehog – Finger Puppet Craft with Backdrop and Pocket This resource is a printable craft activity for primary students. The curriculum for math in grade six combines several disciplines into one. Larger numbers, their multiples, factors, decimals, percentages, geometry, and other topics are all included. In addition to these, algebra and ratio and proportion are two new courses being offered this year. The foundation for the subjects in higher grades is laid by these subjects. At this point, the Grade 6 Math curriculum aims to assist pupils strengthen their fundamental knowledge and ideas while also starting to employ increasingly sophisticated reasoning. Students study a range of foundational arithmetic skills that lay the groundwork for future success. As they study interesting topics like ratios, percentages, and fractions, they will focus on developing their critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. Ten major themes are covered throughout the year, including coordinate geometry, volume, perimeter and area, decimals, and number systems. Additionally, using concepts like Mean, Median, Mode, Range, and Interquartile Range, students will learn how to interpret data. They are prepared for increasingly complex mathematics in middle school and beyond by the challenges each topic offers. This printable worksheet contains 50 arithmetic problems and their answers covering each of these topics.
