These worksheets on consonant blends were created to go along with our Consonant Blends Reading Books , which are a continuation of our CVC decodable readers. Overview The books are divided into two small workbooks that together have 36 pages of consonant blend (CCVC/CVCC) activities. While the second book focuses primarily on final blends (CVCC), the first book primarily covers initial blends (CCVC). Using the vocabulary covered in the reading books, these books provide additional practice in both reading and writing. The workbooks Introduce key phonetic words, such as 'and', 'milk' and 'end', as well as key sight words, such as 'I', 'no' 'go' and 'to' (having learned 'the', 'is' and 'of' in the CVC readers. Students who already know letters will be able to begin to associate sounds with letters, which is crucial and fundamental to learning to read. Then, the act of becoming familiar with the alphabet will facilitate the process of being able to decipher words and understand the connection between sounds and letters. - Increase memory: When learning the alphabet you will remember the specific order of the letters. This process will help the development and strengthening of children's memory. In this way, visual memory and sequential memory benefit from remembering the sequence of the letters of the alphabet. - Promote cognitive skills: The alphabet learning process will also involve observation, association and visual discrimination. This set of skills will be essential for the overall development of the child's brain. Furthermore, as is known, pattern recognition and letter categorization are skills that will later be applied in various areas of learning. 3.Order, scheme and stages It is suggested to first introduce the class with a motivating dynamic, and then introduce the worksheet. 4.Grades or ages This teaching resource is designed for children from 4 to 7 years of age.
