Environmental print is any words or images that are immediately visible in our environment. It includes things like signs, logos, advertisements and product packaging. You encounter environmental print all the time, but did you know it can also help us learn how to read? Children around the age of 3 years and above begin to recognize environmental print, such as street signs, labels, and advertisements. Environmental print allows them to learn important sight words that are commonly seen in the environment. These ABC charts with examples of environmental print A-Z are a great tool for students to combine what they already know with their letter sounds/letter names learning. These ABC charts are great for boosting reading confidence for emerging readers and allows students to begin their academic letter learning in a non intimidating way. This download includes 3 different ABC charts full with environmental print. Great to use as posters, writing supports, or to keep in students book boxes as they practice independent reading. Students will be able to build on their growing reading skills by learning how to recognize environmental print in their everyday surroundings. Some examples from the file are: H like Hulu. When children are first starting to learn letter shapes and sounds, it is helpful to have a handy reference chart that the children can use to aid recall or letter shapes and a picture cue to the sound each letter stands for. There are many ways to use these charts: Wall reference Desk reference - give one to each child; special needs children especially find them helpful. Wall reference: a wall chart Play quick games: Put a counter on the letter that says /t/, for example, and play until all letters are covered. Cut up the squares and ask the children to lay the letters in alphabetical order. Activities: Write me the sound that ...teddy... begins with: can the child write the letter straight away without looking? Does the child look for the picture of the teddy? Use to assess. Can you tell me which object begins with the sound ...../h/, for example. The child looks for 'h' and says 'house'. Let the children use their charts as they complete worksheets/write/spell. If you are a high school math teacher, finding resources that best serve for your students is of the utmost importance! This is aClassifying Quadrilaterals Flow Chartthat is filled with purposeful practice that your students can use right away. This flow chart comes with 2 different versions for students to access. It also provides you with the opportunity to differentiate for students or classes. The overall objective is for students to be able to correctly classify a variety of quadrilaterals in a coordinate system. Each flow chart will have students start with the same question: How many pairs of opposite sides are parallel? (Slope Formula) Each chart will give the same options of 0 pairs, 1 pair, or 2 pairs. The first chart will stop flowing if students choose the option of 0 pairs or 1 pair. The second chart will continue to flow after the selection of 2 pairs. Students will be presented with another question: Are diagonals congruent? (Dist. Formula) They will answer an additional question from there and will then arrive at a final answer. Students can use this flow chart alongside them as they are learning or reviewing the characteristics of quadrilaterals. I hope you enjoy!
