This product consists of Stimulus-Based Short-Essay Questions in the format of the new New York State Regents examination in Regents Examination in United States History and Government (Framework). A "set" consists of two pairs of documents.. Short essay tasks from Innovation are always primary sources. This means students get a more enriched and authentic experience examining the past as historians do. This product is a complete part II as would be on a NYS Regents Examination in United States History and Government (Framework). That is, there are two pairs of documents with the accompanying prompts. The format is based on a prototype examination provided by the NYSED in June 2019. SET 1: Students describe the historical context surrounding two documents and identify and explain the relationship between the events and/or ideas found in those documents (Cause/Effect or Similarity/Difference or Turning Point) SET 2: Students describe the historical context surrounding two documents and (for one identified document) analyze and explain how audience, or purpose, or bias, or point of view affects the document’s use as a reliable source of evidence. Set 1 has one Short-Essay question based on a 5-point rubric Set 2 has one Short-Essay question based on a 5-point rubric. A good strategy for ensuring students possess the skills to address this task is to be certain to assign one every month or so throughout the year, followed by a debriefing where the class can study their classmates’ work (anonymously) and develop strategies for improvement. Biology Binder Covers – Templates for Classroom Use Organize your biology handouts, notes, and units with visual clarity Simple and flexible templates to help organize your biology materials In my biology classes, it can be a challenge to keep things organized - especially when it comes to multiple units, lab notes, worksheets and review materials. To make it easier for my students and myself, I designed these simple binder sleeves. There are 12 different pages. The covers have a clean, colorful blob layout that is friendly but not distracting. I usually print them out and use them as cover sheets or as dividers in folders for students or teachers. They also work well for digital learning environments, e.g. as section covers in PDF files or on classroom platforms. I like that the color scheme allows students to quickly find what they are looking for, and it brings a little more structure to a subject that is often riddled with formulas and technical terms. When used as cover sheets, students can choose their favorite color for their cover sheet. This resource is handy - and has saved me a lot of time in lesson preparation and follow-up. What’s included: 12 biology-themed cover pages different colors zu choose as a cover sheet as a divider between the individual biology topics I've printed these on colored paper for my own binder and also used them digitally in student notebooks. Works well for both teacher organization and student-facing materials. 📍 Best wishes, Heike from Lernfitness Biology teacher (Chemistry teacher, Math teacher) in Germany Did You Know? I teach with a certified therapy dog, and together we create a positive and inspiring learning environment. 🐶✨

Phonemic Awareness Activity
ELA, Language Development, Phonics, Grade 2, 3, Activities, Centers, Read Alouds, Teacher Tools
This phonemic awareness activity includes 25 pages with 12 phonemic awareness activities on each page. I use these lists (one page per week, all year) as an all-class activity. Each page explicitly tells you, the teacher, what to say to the class, and what you should hear back from the whole class at the same time, if they are responding correctly. Practice skills included are: initial, medial, and final sounds, blending, and segmenting. If someone makes a mistake you can easily hear it and go over/explain the item to the class. I like to say my part, then snap two times for students to have think time. Then I place my hand palm up, as if to say GO AHEAD, in order to keep them in unison in their responses. Here is an example of one page- 1. First sound: I say- say, sit, sun They say- /s/ 2. First sound segmentation: I say- seed They say first sound, then the rest: /s/+eed 3. Final sound- I say- mat, bit, late They say: /t/ 4. Final sound segmentation: I say- pat They say the word, with last sound separate: /pa/+/t/ 5. Segmenting 3 sounds: I say- pig They say /p/ /i/ /g/ 6. Blending initial clusters: I say- /s/ top They say: stop 7. Segmenting 4 sounds. I say- flick They say: /f/ /l/ /i/ /k/ 8. Delete part of initial blend: I say- spin without the S They say: pin 9. Blend final clusters: I say- pass + /t/ They say: past 10. Delete part of final blend: I say- field without the D They say: feel 11. Delete second sound in initial blend: I say- skip without the k They say: sip 12. Delete second to last sound in final blend: I say- best without the S They say: bet Have FUN with phonemic awareness!
