Quiz-Quiz-Trade Game: Qualitative Graphs
Math, Graphing, Grade 8, 9, 10, Teacher Tools
Quiz-Quiz-Trade Game : Qualitative Graphs - An Engaging Learning Resource The Quiz-Quiz-Trade Game :Qualitative Graphs is a powerful learning resource designed with the intent to enhance academic language skills while teaching mathematics. Deployed mostly in the grade levels of 8th through 10th, it implements sheltered language methodologies that have proven successful in enriching students' understanding of complex subjects. These methods are particularly beneficial for English Language Learners (ELLs) as they aim to simplify academic vocabulary along with specific subject matter. Incorporation of language and content development This version of the Quiz-Quiz-Trade (QQT) game is special because it focuses on both academic terminology and content development simultaneously. Unlike other QQT activities, this one makes use of sentence starters as a key feature, forcing students to grapple with scholastic lingo and substantial subjects at the same time. A guiding tool for instructors The game comes equipped with 36 ready-to-use QQT cards (3 cards per page across twelve pages). Depending on their class size, teachers can modify this tool by organizing multiple rounds or by increasing printed card volume. This arrangement ensures that every student gets an opportunity to participate without making initial rounds repetitive. Description of Gameplay: Each student receives an individual playing card divided into two sections by a dashed line – one for quiz and another for questions. The cards are folded so that plot points face them and questions face their partners. The pairs quiz each other twice before swapping places with others until they receive further instructions from the teacher. This interactive approach as utilized in the Quiz-Quiz-Trade Game : Qualitative Graphs makes it versatile for group or classroom activities, with enough flexibility for paired work or at-home assignments. Making teaching qualitative graphs a seamless exercise This game is not just about representing mathematical datapoints but converting the learning into an engaging exercise of skill-building and interaction - an objective that is beautifully achieved by the Quiz-Quiz-Trade Game : Qualitative Graphs.
