Latitude and Longitude word search, scramble and crossword puzzle

Latitude and Longitude word search, scramble and crossword puzzle
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Kindergarten, Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables, Crosswords Puzzles

Latitude and Longitude word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this latitude and longitude puzzle set for my 3rd and 4th graders during our map skills unit. The kids could find north and south but had no idea what those number lines on the side of a map actually meant. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like latitude, longitude, equator, prime meridian, parallel, meridian, degrees, north, south, east, west, hemisphere, grid, coordinate, and absolute location. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the vocabulary finally click. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether latitude lines go up and down or side to side. The crossword I use for partners. I added a couple simple globe grid drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 3rd through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers write the approximate latitude and longitude of their town on the back. The kids actually ask for these now. Apply the coordinate vocabulary with this map coordinates worksheet .

Teamwork Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzle
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Kindergarten, Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables, Crosswords Puzzles

Teamwork Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this teamwork vocabulary puzzle set for my 2nd and 3rd graders during our social-emotional learning and group work unit. The kids could work in groups but had no idea what words like cooperation, collaboration, or trust meant when we talked about how to be a good team member. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like team, partner, cooperate, collaborate, help, listen, share, trust, support, and celebrate. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the teamwork vocabulary finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or indoor recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether the goal of teamwork is just to finish faster or also to help each other learn. The crossword I use for partners or as a review. I added a couple simple handshake, puzzle piece, and star drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 2nd through 4th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers write one thing a good teammate does on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the Spanish transportation vocabulary finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or indoor recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether "carro" or "coche" is more common in different countries. The crossword I use for partners or as a review. I added a couple simple car, bus, and airplane drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 2nd through 4th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers draw their favorite way to travel and label it in Spanish on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

The Aztec Civilization word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this Aztec civilization puzzle set for my 4th graders during our world history unit. The kids had heard of the Aztecs but had no idea about Tenochtitlan, floating gardens, or their empire. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like Aztec, Mexico, Tenochtitlan, lake, chinampa, floating garden, empire, emperor, temple, sacrifice, warrior, eagle, cactus, Cortes, and conquest. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the vocabulary finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether the Aztecs built their city on a lake. The crossword I use for partners. I added a couple simple eagle and temple drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 4th through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers write one fact about Tenochtitlan on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Nocturnal Animals word search, scramble and crossword

Nocturnal Animals word search, scramble and crossword
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Kindergarten, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables, Crosswords Puzzles

Nocturnal Animals word search, scramble and crossword ⭐I made this nocturnal animals puzzle set for my 2nd and 3rd graders during our animal behavior unit. The kids were fascinated by animals that stay up all night but got bored quickly with regular review sheets. So I threw together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like owl, bat, raccoon, fox, spider, firefly, and possum. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to keep them engaged without extra prep for me. ⭐The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search is good for quiet time after lunch. The scramble gets them talking because they argue over how to spell "firefly" or "raccoon." The crossword I save for partners. I added a couple simple moon and bat drawings but nothing too distracting. ⭐Works for 1st through 4th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I ask early finishers to circle their favorite animal and write one sentence about why it stays awake at night. That's it. The kids actually like these.
