Fall Autumn Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzle

Fall Autumn Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzle
Holiday & Seasonal, ELA, Reading, Language Development, Vocabulary, Kindergarten, Grade 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, Word Searches, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables, Crosswords Puzzles

Fall Autumn Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this fall and autumn vocabulary puzzle set for my 1st and 2nd graders during our seasonal unit. The kids could point to leaves and pumpkins but had no idea what words like harvest, migrate, or acorn meant when I tried to teach them about the changing season. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like autumn, fall, leaf, leaves, tree, apple, pumpkin, harvest, acorn, squirrel, rake, pile, wind, cool, sweater, boots, scarecrow, corn, hay, and migrate. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the fall vocabulary finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or indoor recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether autumn and fall mean exactly the same thing. The crossword I use for partners or as a review. I added a couple simple leaf, pumpkin, and apple drawings but nothing too busy. Works for K through 2nd grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers draw their favorite fall activity on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Drama and Theater Terms word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this drama and theater puzzle set for my 4th graders during our readers' theater unit. The kids loved performing but had no idea what words like script, stage, or dialogue meant. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like script, stage, actor, actress, role, character, dialogue, scene, act, prop, costume, set, director, audience, and rehearsal. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the theater vocabulary finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about the difference between a scene and an act. The crossword I use for partners. I added a couple simple curtain, mask, and stage drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 3rd through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers name one thing an actor uses on stage on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Internet Safety word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this internet safety puzzle set for my 3rd and 4th graders during our digital citizenship unit. The kids loved being online but had no idea about dangers like sharing personal information or talking to strangers in games. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like online, internet, password, private, personal, name, address, phone, school, photo, share, stranger, friend, block, report, tell, adult, parent, teacher, safe, smart, bully, and respect. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the internet safety rules finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether it's okay to use a fake name online. The crossword I use for partners. I added a couple simple computer, tablet, and lock drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 3rd through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers name two things you should never share online on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

Cross-Curricular Reading Vocabulary word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this cross-curricular reading vocabulary puzzle set for my 4th graders during our reading across subjects unit. The kids could read in science and social studies but had no idea what words like comprehension, content, or vocabulary meant when we talked about reading to learn. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like comprehension, content, vocabulary, text feature, diagram, label, caption, glossary, index, and heading. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the cross-curricular vocabulary finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or indoor recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether reading to learn is the same as reading for fun. The crossword I use for partners or as a review. I added a couple simple book, magnifying glass, and globe drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 4th through 5th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers write one text feature they saw in a nonfiction book on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.
