Dolch Verbs Rebus Sentences Flashcards for Early Reading & Grammar These flashcards are a simple but effective way to help young readers practice verbs while building confidence in reading and grammar. The set focuses on both action and helping verbs, and each card uses a rebus sentence - where some part of the sentence is shown with a picture. That is to give students a visual clue as they read. This makes it easier for children to recognize sight words, spot verbs in context, and begin putting sentences together with meaning. Vocabulary List 1 (Printable PDF) This list shows all of Fry's Fourth 100 Sight Words in alphabetical order. The words are color coded so you can see from which set it originates. 5. Vocabulary List 2 (Printable PDF) This list shows all of Fry's Fourth 100 Sight Words in order of frequency. All the words are divided in 5 groups of 20 words. They have the same color code as the ones in the previously discussed list. Learn the 220 common sight words and 95 nouns from the Dolch Sight Words list, and 1000 modern common sight words from the Fry Sight Words list with this resource. Flash Cards introduce words and promote comprehension through memorization and repetition. They can be used in a group setting or individually for practice. This set includes a teacher guide, the Dolch sight words flash cards, the Fry sight words flash cards, and blank flash cards. These Flash Cards can be used to help students begin their literacy journey. The individual titles included in this BUNDLE are: DOLCH SIGHT WORDS Flash Cards and FRY SIGHT WORDS Flash Cards. About this Combined Resource: This resource includes all 315 Dolch Sight Words and 1000 Fry Sight Words in a Flash Cards format. Organized in groups of 10, teachers can cut out each flash card for easy use with their students. The Flash Cards are separated by grades and nouns. Teachers can choose to focus on cards by grade, or mix them up for an overall activity . Included in this resource are customized origami-styled envelopes that can be used to keep each set of Flash Cards organized. Instructions on how to fold the envelopes can be found on page 4. About Flash Cards: Flash Cards are small cards that have a little amount of information on them. These cards are held up for students to see to help with learning. Flash Cards can be used in groups as drill activities, or alone for private study. Although Flash Cards can contain any form of information, for the purposes of this resource, each Flash Card contains a vocabulary word. Overall, Flash Cards are used as a learning drill to help with memorization through repetition. Students can quickly and easily learn vocabulary words by using Flash Cards in their everyday study. Flash Cards exercise the mental processes of students’ brains. With repeated practice, students will learn to associate words with their spelling. About Dolch Sight Words: In 1948, Edward William Dolch, PhD created his list of the most common 220 words and 95 nouns in children’s books. These words were then divided into grade levels, including pronouns, adjectives, adverbs, prepositions, conjunctions, and verbs. Nouns made up a separate list of 95 words. The list used 220 “service words” that should be easily recognized in order for students to become fluent in reading. The Dolch words are “Sight Words” because many of them cannot be sounded out. Instead, they must be learned by sight. In other words, memorization. These sight words provide a basis for reading at a young age. Students must become familiar with these words as they begin to read in order to become successful readers as they progress through their academic career. About Fry Sight Words: In 1996, Dr. Edward B. Fry expanded on Dolch’s list of 220 Sight Words and 95 common nouns. This list included 1000 of the most common words used in the English language ranked by frequency. Labeled as “Instant Words”, Fry’s list came to be known as “Fry Words”. These words are typically broken down into groups of 100, and separated by grades kindergarten to first grade, second to third grade, and fourth to fifth grade. Learning all 1000 words in this modern list of Sight Words will allow students to be able to read about 90% of the words used in a typical book.

These clothing themed number cards are perfect for students who are learning with a clothing theme. They make the perfect tool for students to learn the letters of the number. What is Included: This set includes one number card and one number word card for all numbers up to 20. Ways to Use the Cards: Play a matching game by matching the numbers to their number words. Attach a paper clip to a number card and use a magnetic fishing pole to "catch" the numbers for a fun fishing game. Use a sand or salt tray for students to practice writing the numbers or number words on each card. Have students find the numbers that you have hidden around the room for a fun number hunt. Place the number cards in numerical order. Create a pocket char game where you place the cards on a pocket chart and hide a picture behind one of the numbers. The students will guess which number the hidden picture is behind. Add objects so students can count to the number on the card. When to Use: Math Center - Place the cards in a math center for students to match independently or with a partner. Morning Tubs or Baskets - Place the cards in a morning bin for students to work on while their classmates arrive to class. Small Group Activities - The teacher can pull aside a small group of students who need extra practice identifying numbers and number words. These clothing number cards are a great activity for students to practice number recognition. They are a low prep activity for teachers to prepare for students. Simply print, cut apart and laminate for durability. These cards can be stored in a task box for easy set up, clean up, and storage. Skills Assessed: These cards, depending on the materials added, can assess both number recognition and number word recognition.

Dolch Primer Sight Word BINGO - 30+ Bingo Cards, Flashcards & Word Lists

This is a bingo game that practices all the Primer high-frequency sight words. Along with that, this resource features a bunch of flash cards that you can use to introduce and practice these words. You can choose to print them with sharp edges or curved ones, though I prefer the curved ones. Otherwise students might hurt themselves on the edges, which is something we'd like to prevent altogether. Now with this resource come a bunch of Bingo sheets. So just print out the flash cards and draw them one by one. The students can now cross the words off from their very own bingo cards. Once they have filled out the entire card, they can yell out the magic word, which is of course BINGO. You csn decide for yourself if you also want to attach a prize to this in order to motivate your students even more. Finally, there are word lists.

This resource is a comprehensive lesson that uses 20 bird-related vocabulary words. First off, you can introduce these words by using the PDF -based presentation. With the arrow keys, you just move from one word to another to make your students familiar with them. Next, You can hand out the vocabulary lists. Beware that these are made with color, so in order to be eco-friendly you might want to use black and white ink. Once the students have taken these lists home, they can do the vocabulary test in their next class. They can practice with the words by utilizing the included flash cards. These just need to be printed, laminated, and cut. Beware of sharp edges though. You can use the curved edges version to avoid annoying pinches. Finally, use the Wacky Words activity to have a really good time in class. With this, all the letters are mixed up. Students love this.
