Pronouns word search, scramble and crossword puzzle I made this pronouns puzzle set for my 2nd and 3rd graders during our grammar unit. The kids kept saying "Sarah went to Sarah's room" instead of "Sarah went to her room" because they didn't know how to use pronouns. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like I, you, he, she, it, we, they, me, him, her, us, them, my, your, his, her, its, our, their, and mine. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the pronoun list finally stick. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether "it" is a pronoun for everything. The crossword I use for partners. I added a couple simple pointing finger and person drawings but nothing too busy. Works for 2nd through 4th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers rewrite a sentence without using any nouns, only pronouns, on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.

So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like plant, animal, water, air, sun, soil, rock, land, ocean, cloud, rain, snow, wind, and earth. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the basic science vocabulary finally stick for students who are new to English. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or independent work. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether soil and dirt are the same thing. The crossword I use for partners or as a warm-up before a lesson. I added a couple simple plant, cloud, and soil drawings but nothing too busy. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like World War I, trench, alliance, Allied Powers, Central Powers, Europe, battle, soldier, weapon, tank, plane, submarine, armistice, peace, and veteran. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the key vocabulary finally click. The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about what made World War I different from earlier wars. The crossword I use for partners.
