Crossword Puzzle in French: In the Park - Au Parc is a resource with a crossword puzzle to practice French vocabulary about things you can see in a park. This resource contains a total of 17 vocabulary words in French to find and fit into the crossword puzzle. All of the things represented are shown as pictures below the puzzle. There is a hidden message to be found in the middle of the puzzle. This hidden message is spring themed: soleil de printemps. For teachers and students' convenience, this resource also includes the solved puzzle with the vocabulary words in place. This crossword puzzle can be used individually, in pairs, or centers . It is valuable for vocabulary learning and practice. Hence it can be used as a quiz as well as in-class practice, or even homework. With French vocabulary, you have to consider if the word is feminine or masculine. In this puzzle I’ve solved this issue by printing the definite article ready for the crossword. This makes it easier for younger students to understand the crossword (meaning exactly one letter for each square) while still introducing the gender of each word. (Except for the words beginning with a vowel, I have used the correct spelling l’ at the expense of mentioning the gender.) Filling the crossword: Students look at the pictures at the bottom of the page. Each picture has a number. When they recognize the word in French, they should write the word into the corresponding horizontal row in the crossword one letter at a time. Don’t forget the accents!Some examples of the words: la fleur, le canard, l'arbre, le toboggan. This French language vocabulary crossword is about music! After filling the crossword , you will find a hidden message from the grey vertical row! This product is a print-and-go and ready-to-use pdf that includes answers. This resource is created for vocabulary building but you can of course use it as a part of a music lesson. This resource is suitable for any student learning French, because the hints are given as pictures, you don’t even have to know these words in English! Some examples of the words are: le piano, les maracas, l’orchestre, la flûte. The hidden message in this crossword is: la musique c’est de l’art. With French vocabulary, you have to consider if the word is feminine or masculine. In this puzzle I’ve solved this issue by printing the definite article ready for the crossword . This makes it easier for younger students to understand the crossword (meaning exactly one letter for each square) while still introducing the gender of each word. (Except for the words beginning with a vowel, I have used the correct spelling l’ at the expense of mentioning the gender.) Filling the crossword : Students look at the pictures on the right side of the page. Each picture has a number. When they recognize the word in French, they should write the word into the corresponding horizontal row in the crossword one letter at a time. Don’t forget the accents! This resource is suitable for individual work or small groups. This resource is at its best with students: -Age 9 or older if French is a foreign language.
