English Language Arts Bell Ringers Unit 1 - 45 Warm-Ups (Grades 6-8)
Grammar, Language Development, ELA, Vocabulary, Grade 6, 7, 8, Worksheets, Worksheets & Printables
These English language arts bell-ringers give middle schoolers a calm, consistent way to begin class. Unit 1 gathers 45 short prompts on Grammar and Conventions, arranged as nine weekly pages a teacher can hand out each Monday and collect on Friday. Each day asks something different - a term or academic word used in context, a few sentences to read and answer, a short analysis task, a quick check, and a question that asks students to make a claim and back it with evidence. The variety keeps the routine from going stale while still reinforcing parts of speech, sentence structure, fragments and run-ons, subject-verb and pronoun-antecedent agreement, commas and end punctuation, apostrophes and capitalization, commonly confused words, and Tier 2 academic vocabulary. Every reading passage in the set is original writing, so there is no third-party text to clear. Everything is print-first: a clean PDF that copies well, uses little ink, and needs no accounts or devices. A full answer key and a standards page listing the Common Core codes the prompts actually exercise are included, so planning and grading stay quick. Designed for grades 6-8, the prompts work as a daily opener, a spiral review, or a settle-in task while attendance is taken. The routine is the point: the same five-minute opener every day, so students settle without being asked twice. It prints cleanly in black and white, which keeps a full class set cheap to photocopy. Each page stands alone, so a substitute can hand out the week without any briefing. The answer key makes grading quick, whether you collect the pages or review them together as a class. It works in person, hybrid, or remote, and fits a homeschool schedule just as well as a full classroom. No logins, accounts, or devices are required — just the printable PDF.

Superhero Time Travel Rescue Mission | Creative Problem Solving
ELA, Writing, Creative Writing, Grammar, Grade 2, 3, 4, 5, Worksheets & Printables, Worksheets
Getting kids to enjoy writing during the early elementary years is key. One way we can do that is to tie in their interests to the writing process. Superheroes are ALWAYS a winner with kiddos, but what happens when you throw in TIME TRAVEL too?! The conflict in this story arch comes from something going wrong in the super hero gadget lab. They'll develop their character and wrap up their story with a resolution. Thinking about the way we think is a foundational skill for growing the executive functions our kiddos will use in the editing process. For this reason, a short checklist has been included at the end of page 4 so that learners can begin to go back and check their work. This key skill in developing healthy executive functioning is intentionally made visible to students to prompt ownership over the quality of their writing. STANDARDS: Meets CCSS Writing standards for grades 2-5. Don't forget to check out the DOZENS of other writing activities from our store including: Ocean Adventures, Desert Survival Mission, Jungle Trek, and many more! This printable is optimal for 2nd-5th graders who enjoy learning about space and demonstrating their knowledge of it. By using the included matrix to choose the setting, challenge, and characters in their story, they'll use the freedom afforded them to create something they love. *Note, some learners may require a basic explanation of what stocks, investments, and savings accounts are. BONUS: Take advantage of the 4 extension activity ideas included in this printable. These activities will take their writing beyond the page and bring it to life in STEAM-supported outlets. What you'll get: a 4 page PDF including instructions, extension activity ideas, and 3 student pages. One of these pages is simply writing space for you to print off as many copies as you need based on the amount your students are writing. You'll also find the editing checklist to prompt students to edit their own work for spelling, capitalization, and punctuation.
