In this workbook, students will learn about digital agents and task automation, and will gain insight into the basics of A.I. This workbook is ideally suited for STEM, computer science and technology education classes with no coding required. The agent-oriented design framework will be introduced to students as they learn how to break complex tasks down into components (sensors, logic processors, actuators). In doing so, students will also gain a greater understanding of how to decompose tasks, create algorithms, utilize loops, use branching paths and interact in multi-agent environments by completing ten exciting student worksheets that have a variety of scenarios (e.g., digital backpack organizer, community garden irrigation aid, library return kiosk, drone delivery, wildlife rescue, etc.). In addition to the ten worksheets, teachers will be able to use various templates, conceptual diagrams (automation cycle, feasibility filter, logic trees), comprehensive answer keys, and visual organization charts/projects for presentation and/or printing purposes. No prior coding skills will be required to participate in this activity; therefore, it is an excellent means to develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and technology literacy in this A.I. age. Reasons Schools & Families are Crazed for It : •Incredible hands-on activities and experiences with real-world examples create connections to complex ideas about AI. •No-preparation necessary for educators- All materials ready to go in a few minutes. •Future readiness through foundational skills e.g. computational thinking, logical reasoning & AI literacy. •Support for all students and challenging activities for advanced learners through differentiated formats. •Unbeatable value for 1 PDF filled with meaningful STEM experiences, the extent of which can provide anywhere from weeks to years of STEM aligned content and reflect the 21st century standards. High School Decoding the Shadows: The Evolution of Criminal Profiling
Reading, ELA, Writing, Research, Resources for Teachers, Science, Technology, Homeschool Resources, High School, Teacher Tools, Assessments, Quizzes and Tests, Lesson Plans, Worksheets & Printables, Writing Prompts
As a homeschool mom of a high schooler, you know the struggle of finding that unique and engaging resource. As both a homeschool mom and a resource creator, I designed this study into the history of criminal profiling to move past dry textbooks and get into the real "human truth" of how justice works, tracing the path from Victorian-era "gut feelings" to the sophisticated forensic discipline used today. It is a wild journey that shows our students/homeschoolers how investigators transitioned from looking only at physical clues to decoding the actual psychology of a suspect. By the time they finish, your student/homeschooler will understand how a crime scene is often just a mirror of a killer’s internal state; I have kept the content rigorous enough for high school credit, but paced it like a story they will actually want to keep reading. INCLUDED IN THIS RESOURCE: A narrative tracing profiling from its 19th-century roots to modern FBI methods. A clear breakdown of "organized" vs. "disorganized" offender profiles. Real-world looks at Jack the Ripper, the "Mad Bomber," and even the profiling of Hitler. A full bibliography featuring foundational works by John Douglas and Robert Ressler. TOPICS COVERED: Moving from physical evidence to decoding a suspect's motivations. How clinical expertise first entered active police investigations. The formalization of evidence-based profiling at the FBI Academy. Using behavioral tracking for cold cases and modern cybercrime. I hope this resource helps your student/homeschooler see that profiling is a living, breathing field that is constantly evolving—using everything from data analytics to modern forensic psychology to crack even the toughest cold cases. As a fellow homeschool mom, I know how important it is to show our students/homeschoolers that even though profiling has faced its fair share of critics, it remains an essential tool for investigators when they hit a wall. As technology advances, our ability to get inside a criminal's head only gets more precise. This journey from "armchair" theories to the high-tech halls of the FBI's Behavioral Science Unit is really a story about our human drive to understand the unthinkable; it is a great reminder that while science handles the hard facts, profiling is what actually helps us uncover the "human truth" behind the crime. If you and your students/homeschoolers enjoyed this resources, please leave a review. Thank you for your support! Tina - Big Easy Homeschooling Mom

FULL CATALOG OF DOWNLOAD LINKS AND ENCYCLOPEDIA INDEX HERE Lesson Snapshot Title: Marshmallows Genre: Nonfiction Subject: Science (informational reading) Primary Topic: How marshmallows become foam; heat and pressure Estimated Guided Reading Level (A–Z): N What This Lesson Teaches Best Explains what a marshmallow is (a sweet foam) and how tiny air bubbles get trapped inside. Describes the process of making marshmallow mixture turn “fluffy” as it is beaten and thickens. Builds word knowledge through the origin of the name “marshmallow” from the marsh mallow plant and its “root sap.” Connects cause-and-effect in simple “food science”: heat toasts the outside and melts the inside; air pressure can make marshmallows puff up or shrink. Provides aligned support pages (trivia, questions, vocabulary tasks, writing, and extensions) that reuse the passage’s key ideas and terms. Learning Goals Explain why a marshmallow is called a “foam” using details from the text. Describe how air gets trapped in marshmallow ingredients while they are whipped or beaten. Tell why marshmallows are dusted with cornstarch. Explain where the word “marshmallow” comes from, based on the passage. Describe what heat does to a marshmallow over a fire or in hot chocolate. Describe how changes in air pressure can make marshmallows change size. Key Vocabulary From the Text Gelatin — ingredient that helps mixture set and hold bubbles. Cornstarch — powder dusted on marshmallows so they don’t stick. Cylinders — tube shapes, like short, round rolls. Sap — sticky liquid from a plant’s root. Pressure — force of air that can make bubbles shrink or grow. Cored Ed Encyclopedia Overview The Cored Ed Encyclopedia is a weekly series of lessons that you can pick up and use right away. Waves, Light, Imaging: Physical Science Reading Comprehension Passages and Questions (Google) This very engaging collection of physical science reading passages about Waves, Light, and Imaging is designed to bridge the gap between science and literacy through strengthening reading comprehension and sparking scientific curiosity in middle school students. Each passage blends English Language Arts skills with accurate science content that supports NGSS classroom practice. Ideal for interdisciplinary learning in ELA and Science. Suitable for Grade 9 review, too! What Is Included? There are (3) informational passages: How Sound Travels: Sound starts with a vibration that squeezes and stretches nearby matter, sending a wave through air, water, or solid material. The ear and brain team up to turn those moving pressures into the pitch and loudness we hear, which is why sound needs a medium. Seeing Color: Reflection, Absorption, Refraction: Color shows up only when light hits an object and some wavelengths bounce back to the eye. Materials reflect, absorb, or bend light differently, so a prism, a black backpack, or even dim lighting can change what we see. Cameras: From Dark Rooms to Smartphones: A simple darkened box with a tiny opening once projected faint, upside-down scenes onto a wall. Adding lenses, mirrors, film, and later digital sensors turned that idea into cameras for art, news, and everyday life, ending with phones that can snap and share in seconds. Student Tasks for Each Passage: 5 multiple-choice questions targeting main idea, key details, inference, vocabulary in context, and use of evidence 5 vocabulary matching items with clear, student-friendly definitions 5 text-based questions that require citing specific lines or facts 1 summary prompt that asks students to condense central ideas accurately Full answer key for every section Available Formats for this Resource PDF Google Docs FULL CATALOG OF DOWNLOADING LINKS HERE Other Science Reading Collections you May find in the store: 1.
