Teaching tips & learning objectives

Learning objectives

  • Students will trace seven basic geometric shapes to build fine-motor pencil control.

  • Students will begin to associate each shape with its Spanish name (cuadrado, círculo, triángulo, rectángulo, óvalo, corazón, estrella).

Teaching tips

  • Introduce and say each shape's Spanish name aloud before students trace it, since the name appears on its own page ahead of the tracing page.

  • Because each shape spans two pages (a name page and a tracing page), plan for roughly seven short sessions covering two pages each, or spread the fourteen pages across a longer unit.

Skills covered

  • Shape tracing — students trace seven basic shapes (square, circle, triangle, rectangle, oval, heart, star) to build pencil control and shape recognition.

  • Spanish vocabulary exposure — students see and can learn each shape's Spanish name, presented on its own dedicated page before the tracing task.
