Introduction- This is a Happy Culture Day Poster that your students will love. This poster will allow students to write about and celebrate their country and culture. These will make a great display on your bulletin board or in the hallway. Students can work on this activity in class or it can be assigned as a take home project.
Order, Outline and Steps- very simple, just choose which template you want to use and print. Alternatively you can also print various templates and have your student choose.
Grades or Ages- can be used from 2nd grade to upper 4/5th grades.
Implementation Format- can be implemented during special culture days celebrated or research projects.
How to use and Variations- this can be used at any time of the school year, especially during "international/culture week or day" at school.
File Types- this file comes as a PDF that can be printed on a standard sheet of 8.5"x11' paper. However, you can also print on a tabloid paper if you wish.

Draw the outline and the flag of a chosen country accurately enough to be recognised

Explain in a sentence why a chosen place or custom matters to them, using the written prompts on the All About My Culture version

Teaching tips

Show the completed U.S.A. example before students begin, and discuss how to fill the labeled panels.
Choose the plain layout for a general country project or the International Week and Culture Day banners for those events.
Offer the All About My Culture version when students are ready to complete longer sentence prompts.

How do the poster versions differ from one another?

The core layout stays the same — country, outline, flag, greeting, traditional clothing, food, a holiday or tradition and a famous place. Two versions add event banners reading "Happy International Week!" and "Happy Culture Day!" and open with "I am from:", while the "All About My Culture" version replaces several picture panels with sentence stems to complete.

What does the completed example show?

One page is filled in for the U.S.A.: the country named at the top, "Independence Day~July 4th" under holidays and traditions, and "The Statue of Liberty (New York)" as the famous place, with "HELLO! :)" written into the greeting panel.

How much writing does the poster ask for?

On most versions, single words and short phrases inside labelled boxes, which keeps it workable for younger children. The All About My Culture version asks for more, with stems such as "It tastes ___" and "My favorite place in my country is ___ because" that turn the page into a short piece of writing.
