Bilingual English-Spanish Colors word search, scramble and crossword puzzle

I made this bilingual colors puzzle set for my 1st and 2nd graders during our dual language unit. The kids could name colors in English but had no idea what words like rojo, azul, or verde meant in Spanish. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like rojo/red, azul/blue, verde/green, amarillo/yellow, naranja/orange, morado/purple, rosa/pink, marrón/brown, negro/black, blanco/white, and gris/gray. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the color vocabulary finally stick in both languages.

The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or indoor recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether "marrón" and "café" both mean brown. The crossword I use for partners or as a review. I added a couple simple color block and Spanish flag drawings but nothing too busy.

Works for K through 3rd grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers color a rainbow and label each color in both languages on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.
