Bilingual English-Spanish School Supplies word search, scramble and crossword puzzle
I made this bilingual school supplies puzzle set for my 1st and 2nd graders during our dual language unit. The kids could name school items in English but had no idea what words like lápiz, libro, or mesa meant in Spanish. So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like lápiz/pencil, libro/book, cuaderno/notebook, mochila/backpack, silla/chair, mesa/table, puerta/door, ventana/window, pizarra/board, and borrador/eraser. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the school supply vocabulary finally stick in both languages.
The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess or indoor recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about whether "borrador" means eraser or whiteboard eraser. The crossword I use for partners or as a review. I added a couple simple pencil, book, and desk drawings but nothing too busy.
Works for K through 3rd grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers label three items in their classroom in both languages on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.
