Butterflies and Moths word search, scramble and crossword

⭐I made this butterflies and moths puzzle set for my 2nd and 3rd graders during our insect unit. A lot of my kids mixed up butterflies and moths so I wanted a fun way to drill the vocabulary. I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like caterpillar, chrysalis, cocoon, antenna, wings, nectar, and larva. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to reinforce what we talk about in class.

⭐The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search is good for quiet time after lunch. The scramble gets them arguing over how to spell "chrysalis" which is actually helpful because they learn it faster that way. The crossword I save for small groups. I added a couple simple butterfly and leaf drawings but nothing distracting.

⭐Works for 1st through 4th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I ask early finishers to draw a quick life cycle on the back using words from the puzzles. The kids like these way more than my normal worksheets.
