Plural Nouns word search, scramble and crossword puzzle

I made this plural nouns puzzle set for my 2nd and 3rd graders during our grammar unit. The kids could add "s" to make most nouns plural but had no idea what to do with words like "box," "baby," or "knife." So I put together a word search, a word scramble, and a crossword using words like cat/cats, dog/dogs, box/boxes, bush/bushes, baby/babies, city/cities, knife/knives, leaf/leaves, man/men, woman/women, child/children, tooth/teeth, foot/feet, mouse/mice, and person/people. Nothing fancy — just puzzles to help the plural rules finally stick.

The PDF is four pages. Three puzzles plus one answer key page. The word search works well for quiet time after recess. The scramble gets them talking because they argue about why "goose" becomes "geese" but "moose" doesn't become "meese." The crossword I use for partners. I added a couple simple plus and equal drawings but nothing too busy.

Works for 2nd through 4th grade. Print and go. Sometimes I have early finishers write the plural of "party" and "wolf" on the back. The kids actually ask for these now.
